Welcome to the World of Splawn! Congrats on your amps and cab. I'd say you've got over $3,000 in gear if bought new. Feel free to ask any questions you might have. I am personally a big fan of Treble on '0' and JAN 5751 preamp tubes in the P.I. I also use boosts/OD2/Gear 2 so we may have the opposite in music tastes LOL I sometimes/sometimes not use a volume pot in the loop.

Treble 0 and Mids boosted Gear1 and OD2 seem to work well for me … not really a fan of the Splawn 4x12 - much prefer the Avatar with Warehouse Veteran 30s/Invaders … a lot of that high-end fizz is now gone. Still planning to dump the KT88s and pop in some EL34Bs. Otherwise, enjoying the simplicity of Guitar - Cable -Amp! I’d love to hear those invaders with the Splawn.... Any chance of a short cell phone clip?

I would think you would set the amp to 4.
I know for sure that 2 - 8 ohm cabs run in PARALLEL would draw a 4 ohm load I just can't speak to how these two jacks are set up.

I think that’s correct Splawndude. It would be just like running a full stack.

Yep - as long as those dual cab scenarios are seen by the amp as parallel connections you divide down vs adding together.
That is most common and probably used 90% of the time.
There could be a few situations were adding two cabs together could be seen by the amp as being wired in series. I honestly can't remember much on what that might be so maybe someone else can confirm. For example, what happens if you plug a second cab into one of 'stereo' jacks on the first cab? Is that considered series? Anyway, obvious with a series connection 2- 8 ohm cabs would equal 16 total.

Congrats on a GREAT deal drat! That's awesome! Curious how old is it? Pics? Yeah if you can get away with it the guitar->cord->amp is the way to go. I play in a cover band so I've got a bunch of effects in my chain and it's amazing what a crappy effect can do to a Splawn's tone. I had a wah with a lousy buffer and it wrecked my tone, was bummed, did troubleshooting and finally took the wah out of the loop and the Splawn magic was back. That wah got sold! (Crybaby 95-Q FYI). Too bad you don't like the cab, the Splawn speakers are mostly a greenback flavor, which I like but if your Avatar works better for you all good. You could probably sell the cab for several hundred bucks!

You could probably sell the cab for several hundred bucks! Serial is CP5151988 - gold faceplate/piping with black tolex. Has the Loop Master. Actually … selling the whole rig - it's on FB Marketplace and eBay now (along with my old Blackstar rig … and probably soon to be joined by my Marshall JVM205 head). It just has way more gain than I need and is a bit thin sounding to my ears. I couldn't get a decent ("decent" purely subjective and couched in terms of what I needed it to do) sound out of it. Still a great amp - just not for me. I prefer my Fender Hot Rod Deluxe / Fender Twin -> Pedalboard (Custom 2-channel boost, EP Boost, MXR Micro-Amp, Fulltone OCD) -> Avatar 4x12 (Warehouse Invaders + Veteran 30s in an X) or Sesismic 2x12 (Warehouse Veteran 30s) set-up. For what I'm doing (punk) it seems to cover the most bases. It's also much easier to transport - I just pop a VOX MV50 on top as a back-up amp and my whole rig plus guitar/backup guitar fits into my Elantra. Still playing around with my EHX MIG-50 though and never getting rid of my Eleven Rack!
