I've been using a MXR 10 band EQ in my loop for the past couple months with different settings and I turned it off over the weekend. I love the that EQ but now I actually prefer it off. Also using OD1 instead of OD2 seems to be my happy place now. Its weird that for such a simple amp I can make really simple adjustments and it seems like a new amp. I may take the EQ off my board but I'm going to keep it around.
What pedals are the mainstays on your pedal board? I thought the EQ was one and a boost but I was playing yesterday with the boost off and was shocked when I looked down and it was off. |

When I first got my QR I too used the 10 band in the loop. Then, same as you I turned it off one day and thought it sounded pretty damn good. I haven’t replaced it since.
I recently got a Friedman Buxom Boost and I absolutely love it!

I want to get a RYRA Klon. I've been eyeing them since I saw a Anderton's sounds like Mastodon by busting the bank vid. Bea's tone on that video it one of the best I've ever heard from them. Each time I see one on Reverb for a decent price I always take it out of my cart and wait. I do love my Buxom boost but I'm kinda curious about stacking it with a little bit of dirt from an OD.

I haven’t heard of those. I’m assuming is a Klon Centaur clone similar to some of the others out on the market? Or is this one different?
Tonight at practice I switched to gear 2 OD 1 and was able to raise the boost level on the Buxom Boost....it was glorious!! Lol

Its basically a Centaur clone but from the demos I've seen I liked it better than the Tumnus and Mythical Overdrive.
As far as the Buxom boost goes its got me curious on how my Splawn would sound with the other pedals Friedman has come out with. I have so much fun tweaking the tight control on the buxom boost. I usually run the EQ bypassed but I need to play around with it. Sooo many options for such a simple pedal.
