I have an Orange 2x12 with V30's and it seems to play fine with my Nitro but a bit rough with my Quick Rod. I've been compensating by scooping the mids a bit more than I typically would. What would you guys recommend for heavy downtuned music? I've been thinking getting a cab with Creambacks or Small Blocks. If I ask on any forums with all the guys playing Dual Recs and 5150's they will all say V30's and nothing else.

I'm going to have to vote Splawn 212 cab with Small Blocks. Mainly because: That's what I have  I play a lot of similar stuff They are very affordable Scott can customize it If I had to do something different, I would consider a ported cab. I know Junior really like them. |

Creambacks or governor and man o war. G12-30 70th anniversary are good for that also.

I would have to say I was also pretty happy with the Man O War and had and also the G12H30 I had. The latter was in an Avatar 212 along with a Classic Lead 80.
The higher wattage Greenback'ish speakers (aka Creambacks and Small Blocks) seem to be where it is at for Quick Rod though - assuming that is what were asking about. Should go good with the Nitro too obviously.

Do you have a second 2x12 cab that you are buying these speakers for or are you still going to use the Orange cab and swap speakers into that?

I'm trying to sell my Orange cab to get a Splawn cab. But if I cant find a buyer I'm just going to replace my speakers in the orange.

My cab will be here Monday. I ordered it from Matt's Music. I didnt want to wait 2-3 weeks and Matt's had the design/speakers that I wanted. Attachments:
