I won’t reveal exactly what it is just yet but I’m super excited about it. Mid 80’s shredder.... Should be here in a couple of days. I bought it with no pickups installed. And now for the second time I’ve ordered a set of pickups from Fokin which should arrive fairly soon as well. He makes KILLER pickups and his pricing is ridiculously good.
SUPER excited. Lol

Unfortunately no... It’s out of my budget for the time being. This guitar is from 1986...(possibly ‘85, we aren’t sure).

I have been searching for an Ibanez Destroyer with burst top or flamed top with binding and floyd rose for a few months. No luck yet.

I think you had a Focus 3000 (with a pick guard) or Focus 6000 (pickups mounted to the body)....the 1000 was a single humbucker, like the Baretta.
The knife edges aren’t perfect but they should be in good working condition. Worst case I can get a replacement base plate if needed.
I’m still waiting on he pickups to arrive and I’m fairly certain I’ll be swapping out the block for a 42mm brass block. But that will have to wait until next paycheck!! Once I get the block I’ll disassemble the Floyd and give it a good cleaning. I’ve also decided to replace all of the electronics. The toggle switch is iffy so I figured I may as well replace all of it. I forgot to order a new output jack so I’ll reuse the current one. If it’s bad I’ll replace that too.

I’ve been trying to learn a little something about the brand lately. Up until now all I knew is that when I started playing guitar they were: 1) crazy popular 2) I couldn’t afford one. Lol

It’s almost done. I had a small snafu wring it up though. I replaced all of the electronics and rewired it, but I have a ground loop somewhere in there and I can’t seem to find it. 😡 I’m going to drop it off to my tech today and let him deal with it. I’ll have him set it up too. I should have it back in about a week. And of course, pics to follow!!
