According to the guy in this video: www.youtube.com/watch?v=I9yHy9fJmCU&t=9sAt 9:00 he mentions that the solo boost not only boost volume but also switches to OD2 automatically. He said Scott told him that, do you guys know/believe this to be true? I'm going to try to experiment with this on Wednesday, I have OD2 on a lot so I didn't notice any gain increase, might adjust things on OD1 and use the solo boost as more of a boost if this is indeed the case.

I’ve never noticed that. I hear it as strictly a volume boost. However, earlier models may have switched automatically...?

I have no idea but my guess would be the newer ones are only a volume boost.

Might be worth an email to Scott, cvogue.

Might be worth an email to Scott, cvogue . Gonna see if I can figure it out on my own tonight at practice.
Seems like I should be able to dial in the volume of the boost to be the same as the regular volume... play a chord on OD1 and then turn off the boost and turn on OD2, see if it sounds the same.
I just like experimenting! If I get weird results I'll email Scott.

I tried this yesterday as well. Even when I lowered the solo volume below the main volume I could still hear something happening. I’m not sure if it’s a volume or gain difference though. But definitely 100% something is changing.

Yeah did a quick experiment last night... wasn't sure if something was different on OD1 with the solo turned down a bit... but I did notice that on OD2 the solo boost made more of a difference.
I think I will email Scott, see if he can shed some light. May be a difference between Quickrod and Street Rod.

What I did was set the amp to od1 then clicked on/off the solo boost. I experimented with all different solo knob levels. Both above the volume level and below the volume level. I didn’t do it like you did (experimenting with the od1/2 and then hitting the solo boost.) But like I said....something was happening but I’m not sure if od2 was engaging with the solo boost or if I was just hearing a volume bump or if my ears were playing tricks on me! I’m curious as to Scott’s response....
