Proud owner of a Fully Loaded 50 watt QR. Absolutely the best sounding, most versatile amp I have ever owned. I originally had a 100 watt QR that was in the first run of Drop B+ amps - non switchable. I found that head a new home and opted for the lower wattage version - which runs in Drop b+ all the time - and the Mid Cut Switch and Old / New Switches. It just kills. I also owned a 100 Watt Nitro that I absolutely loved. It definitely had a unique ‘flavor’ of tone and drive as compared to the QR. Will, I just found that head a new home as well and just placed an order today for a 50 Watt Fully Loaded Nitro. Can’t wait to get it. Between the QR and the Nitro with all the options, I just cannot imagine a tone that you couldn’t produce. Will post links to clips once she arrives.

Should ship this week. Can’t wait. All my buddies have moved to Fractals, Kempers, and Line 6 modelers. Most of them use in ear monitors and feed their signal straight out to the house. Saw one of my buddies bands over the weekend and his tones (Fractal) through the mains were incredible. That said, I’m the last tube head / cab cavemen in my group. And darned proud of it. I’ll try to post clips when the nitro arrives...

This thing sounds killer. I took a few pics, but they are too big. And the condenser mic on my iPhone just doesn’t do this thing justice. Definitely meatier and gainer than my QR, but the mid cut and old / new switches with the Nitro gain structure are incredible. The difference is more subtle than with the QR. On my QR it really jumps out at you when you toggle the mids or go from old to new voicing. You can tell the difference with the Nitro, but it’s not as ‘in your face.’ Even at 50 watts, this baby is LOUD! Roll the resonance and the gain back and add the mids with the switch and you have a very convincing ‘Brown Sound.’ I’d stand a fully loaded Nitro up against an Uberschall, or a Butterslax any day of the week. I’m looking into a decent lil camera with XLR inputs for my Senheiser mic to get a few quality representative clips thrown together.

Well, here is a short video clip using the condenser mic on my phone (no post-processing magic here) of preliminary attempts at a ‘Brown Sound’ using the 50 watt Fully Loaded Nitro. I am using the ‘New’ voicing and I have the mid switch engaged. Gain is around noon. Listening to this clip, I can definitely back some more gain out of this sound, but even with the amount of gain on this recording, the articulation and string separation is impressive. Time effects are compliments of an Earthquaker Dispatch Master through the loop. This was through a quad of 65 watt Creambacks in the cabinet - I have since swapped these for G12EVH 20 watters and the improvement in tone is noticable. Roasted Swamp Ash strat (Warmoth) with an EMG-57 in the bridge. m.youtube.com/watch?v=6Z_biQJsAhQ

Sounds awesome! Is that a Liberatore guitar case i see? If it is, those are made by a luthier here in Montreal!

How Cool! Yes, Mauro is a good friend of mine. I was introduced by Joe Giancioppi who I believe used to help Mauro around the shop. Joe was a phenomenal guitarist and I met him when we were both enrolled at GIT in Hollywood. I was playing Jacksons and Joe had Liberatores. I thought the Liberatore was everything the Jackson was but just a bit cooler in every way. I have a pair of Mauro's guitars that wear a few proud bumps and bruises from years playing the Midwest circuit. But they both still look, play and sound incredible. On my youtube page I think I have a clip of me playing the purple one.

That is cool! They are really well made guitars. I see them around here on the used market every now and then in Montreal.
How many Libaratore's do you own? I checked your YouTube chanel and saw the purple one but i think i saw another woodstained one with reverse headstock? Nice chops in your vids! You love Halen like me lol. Nice cars too!!

I've got a pair of Liberatore's - the purple and then I have one with a gorgeous lighting sky graphic - Ill try to post a pic. I recently went on a guitar building binge - buying mostly used bodies and necks online and slapping them together. Yes - I am a VH wacko! I was IMMERSED in Malmsteen and Racer-X in my 20s, but now as an old man I have really come to appreciate all the subtleties and nuances in that early VH stuff: the tone, the gear, the technique - I now play in a for fun only weekend VH tribute band. Were having a blast!
PS - Doesn't that Abrahamian Rockstah just NAIL the VH tone???
