So after watching zionstrat's video over on the Street Rod page I'm thinking I'd like to swap out the nifty looking sparkly round gold knobs I have on my SR with the chicken head knobs. Just a lot easier to see the settings.
Anybody done this? Can you get them at Guitar Center? Do Splawns require anything special?
Enquiring minds wanna know!

I believe I recall a post where briman changed knobs. I’m not sure what he switched to or where he got the knobs.
I’d shoot Scott an email and ask him to sell you a set.
I have the chicken heads on my amp but I ordered it that way.

Hey guys! Happy Saturday to ya! Yeah i put chicken head knobs on my QR last year. My head and cab are purple so i went with purple but if i could go back in time.....i would have gone with white or black. I find the purple a little tacky looking.
I bought them on ebay from a seller in China for really really cheap. I think they were $11.99 including shipping to Canada. They took over a month to get here though! They are good quality however which is very surprising for the price. They are same quality as the stock ones on my other Quick Rod.

I made the switch too. I did it more for looks than for settings but it def helps with settings. Huge plus if you gig especially. Originally, when my Splawn looked like a Plexi, I was really happy about that fact because it is such an iconic look. THen I got bored with it and decided to try to make it look as un-Marshall as possible. Opposite direction. The chicken head knobs I have are high quality. You will need a small flat head screwdriver. Pretty simple swap.  |

I prefer the chicken head looks for some reason but still like the vintage style also.
So what colour should i get to replace purple.....black or white?

Ok so I finally received my black knobs from ebay lol. It took 2.5 months delivery from China. Cost me $8.99 and free shipping for 20 knobs! Great quality too. Here's before and after pics. What was i thinking with the purple lol😩   |
