Could be....I’m no expert but iirc I have read where a resistor can change the value of what the circuit “sees” in regard to the potentiometers. In other words, if you have 500K pots in he guitar but there is too much treble response the capacitor (or resistor....I forget which is used...I think a cap?) will drop the value of the pot. The lower the value, the less treble response. I actually have 250K pots in my LP because I thought it was too bright with the QR.
