Hi Guys,
Am I correct that instead of dragging the footswitch to the studio I can simply insert or remove a 1/4" mono plug into the "A" footswitch jack to control switching between OD1 & OD2? Without any worry for damage to the amp? Or is there something more going on inside the footswitch beyond simply shorting the ring and sleeve?
I usually only use OD2, so for recording purposes I'd rather not be dragging the Footswitch around if I can simply insert a spare 1/4" mono plug (thereby shorting the ring and sleeve).
Thanks,
Sonic

I can’t give you a definitive answer for your question. It sounds like your logic is sound but like I said, I’m not 100% sure how the footswitch jacks work. Might be worth an email to Scott to ask how it works exactly. Let us know what Scott says, I’m curious as to how it works too.

Will do. Originally I was confident my theory was correct and safe, however I noticed it seems the LED's are powered by voltage down the same ring/sleeve in question. Which then got me a bit concerned as to the safety of inserting a mono plug to short the two together. I vaguely recall Scott explaining the circuit was designed this way on purpose and it's okay to do as I suggest (which is the same way people control the heads with external switchers in rack systems). But I'm not certain.

Received response from Scott. He confirmed it will work.
