Just want to share my frustrating experience with one of my guitars D-Tuna. I changed string gauge from 9 to 10 and after adjusting springs and truss rod, i stretched the strings and tuned the guitar. But when i went to slide out the D-Tuna, it was so tight i couldn't budge it! I checked the plate under floyd that puts upward tension on saddle screws and seemed fine. I checked the screw itself to see if there was a groove or something grabbing onto the D-Tuna but that was ok too.
So i changed the screw to a shorter one from the D-Tuna kit. Didn't help. Then i tried longer one and same thing. Then i was getting really frustrated and was going to remove the fine tuning adjustment out of the floyd to look underneath and noticed it was stuck! Had to use pliers to loosen it and that was the problem! The fine tuner was stickikng down just a tad and therefore when i tuned the D-Tuna to e with the tiny allen key, the D-Tuna wouldn't slide because it was wedged too tight against the fine tuner!😠😠 I wasted like 2 hours of my time because of that little stupid fine tuner! And it's not a licensed floyd! It's original!!

D-Tunas are pretty cool, great idea! Glad you got it sorted.
Only issue I have with them is that you can only press down on the bar, can't lift up (very little if any). If you're like Eddie and only go down they're great.

D-Tunas are pretty cool, great idea! Glad you got it sorted. Only issue I have with them is that you can only press down on the bar, can't lift up (very little if any). If you're like Eddie and only go down they're great. There are 2 usable solutions to this. 1) install a tremsetter. I have one in my DBZ Barchetta. It allows you to go both down and up with the whammy AND use a D-Tuna. There is a “set point” in the middle of the path of travel. It acts as a return to pitch point. If you break a string you will still be in tune. But it holds the trem in place when you use the D-tuna to drop down. 2) install a Tremol-no. I have one in my Ibanez 7 string. Now, you can’t use a D-tuna with an Edge trem but you can set the tremol-no in hardtail mode or dive only mode and then use the D-Tuna (provided you have a Floyd, that is.)
