So a buddy of mine (guitarist) was saying I might consider a different speaker. I've got a Street Rod with the Creamback in it. It's good but I listened to the vid where Scott is playing a Street Rod with a Big Block in it and it seems more open, edgier etc... than my Street Rod, thinking it might be the speaker. It has a Big Block in it.
Given that the Big Block is similar to the Celestion G12H30, wondering if anyone has tried G12H30's in their Splawn (Street Rod or in a cab with a Quick Rod)
Whatchya think?
Edit: Just realized the G12H30 is a 30 watt speaker (duh!! but V30's are actually 60 watt speakers... so I'm not that dumb! Well maybe I am...) so it probably isn't good to put it in a 40 watt combo. Although I almost always use it with an extension cab loaded with a greenback.

I don't think they make the Big Blocks anymore. I have a set of Small Blocks in my cab and love them. BUT....you don't need new speakers...the Creambacks KILL....
Put a clean boost in front of the amp.... Vol at unity Gain off or just barely cracked Bass at 1:00 Treble at 10-11:00 Enjoy the magic Your welcome.
