What String gauge do you guys use? I used to play 10's. I have been using 9's for last couple of years and like them for effortless playing and vibrato but notice that the A string sounds to trebly or thin. I also find tuning not as stable as my 10's. Occasionally i brake the high E string too. I went out tonight to buy 9.5's but the store that carries them was closed. So i went to another store and they didn't have them so i bought 10's. I am gonna try em out again and see if i get comfortable again and if not.....will go get 9.5's. My gut tells me though that i will want the comfort and ease of playing 9's but without the thin sounding A and tuning instability so will end up with 9.5's.

I just put 10's on tonight and love them! To be honest they are not as hard to play as i thought. They feel just a tad stiffer but the tone is much punchier and thick. I noticed there is more sustain with 10's also which i guess is due to stronger vibration from the higher tension. I really don't know why i switched to 9's for last 2 years......😣

It definitely takes some getting used too.
The thicker tone or timbre or whatever it is is addicting though. I don't see myself going back to .09s ever. Wet noodles I tell ya.
I'm usually in lower tunings tho so....

Usally 9s on my 25.5 guitars and 10's on ones that I downtune. Just picked up a MIJ Jackson DK2M and that has 10's in 440. My teeny calluses not liking, lol.

Yeah going from 9 to 10's will be hard on fingers for a few days.

9's here. Usually D'Addario or EB Super Slinkies. The EB's sound better out of the gate but fade quickly. DA's sound good for a lot longer
Used to use DA 9.5's it's a nice compromise between 9's and 10's. 10's just feel too heavy for me, but I didn't give them much of a chance.
