Hey Splawners... there are probably other threads about this but in the interest of fostering more forum activity (and my laziness to go search through a bunch of threads!) I decided to start a new one.
Let's talk settings. I have a new Street Rod and I have the bass at about 9:00, mids about noon and treble about 1:00. Presence is higher, maybe 2-3:00.
I've heard there's interplay between the EQ controls, kinda like a Mesa apparently. If you modify one it changes how the others behave. Have you found this to be true? Just wondering.
Also, what do you usually have your OD channel volume set to? As mentioned in different places full power is where it's at. I was getting complaints from the lead singer in the band that he can't hear himself. I don't want to attenuate things too much using the loop volume since it does sap the tone a bit. I have the volume probably at about 10:30, maybe that's too high? Others have had it at 9. This thing is freaking loud!
Also... I've seen that the solo boost loses it's effectiveness if you have the channel volume up, and the manual states that if you use the loop volume control you shouldn't have them above noon anyway.

Here is a pic of the settings on my 2016 QR. I have it in 3rd gear od 1. On my 2015, everything is at noon and also in 3rd gear. I don't use the solo feature as i am not playing in a band. I don't notice and settings reacting differently due to changes in other settings.

Here's the 2015 settings pic. All noon! Sounds similar to 2016 but less spongy due to b + option. I have creambacks with 2015 and greenbacks with 2016.

Thanks briman, in both amps you have your channel volumes really low... do you find that affects the tone more or less than turning down the volume via the loop control?
I'm going to try that on Saturday.

Yeah i usually have the volume higher than what's in pics. My loop volume is at 11 oclock and i have chanel volume at about 830 to 9 oclock. Sometimes if the wife is not home, i will crank it up to 11 oclock and that is freakin loud!!😲 I have both on full power always. I notice if i have volume very low ......the sound is colder but once i push it up to about 8 oclock ....it gets warm and tubes are pumpin!

I saw your thread in the Street Rod sub-forum but decided to post in this one because I think you will find there is more traffic here (and probably more advice/posters).
briman has some sick tone so I don't want to really counter what he says but my amp does not come alive until the channel volume on the gain channel is up over 9:30 so 10:00-10:30 is usually where I am at. I do run at half power as mentioned in your other thread and I often have an OD pedal on and EQ pedal in loop on. 8:30 on my amp would be thin, cold and tonally deaf. I have an older '06 Quick Rod I think but with 4 pre.
I was shocked and pleasantly surprised to learn that running the Treble '0' (off) sounds much better to my ears so yes there is interaction. I think my Bass is around 10am and Mids around 12pm. I'd have to check because honestly, I never touch them. Presence is around 11am. Gear 2 / OD 2. I'm more of metal/core guy so that may not help much. My Rectoverb actually gets more play time these days for these reasons. Also, they say to run the Solo Volume a bit higher than Channel volume, even if you don't use the Solo feature. The Clean Channel Volume needs to be much much higher on my amp but I don't use the clean channel.
Just more stuff to try my friend.
Have fun!

Thanks splawndude, yeah the zeroing of the treble control didn't do anything for me... but I didn't mess with the other controls, will try that out.
It is fun to experiment, I'm quite the tone chaser, hey... that's why I got the Splawn!
