I am trying to nail down the cosmetics of the Slant 4x12 I'll be ordering. I currently have a boa tolex QR. I've eliminated the idea of getting a Boa cab. So that is out of the running. I am toying with the idea of an all black cabinet, tolex, piping, grille etc...However I'm not entirely sold on it. Here are some pics of cabs I'm considering. Black with white piping and grey cloth would look killer with a boa head.
The purple... not so much IMHO!
Red only works for me if the head is red too.

Really appeciate it. I also like your suggestion. That would look cool for sure. I'm currently torn. Part of me wants a "complimentary" cab, and another part wants a rediculous non match. I would personally go with black with white piping and black tolex. The red would look mean like the red knobs made it look. But red cab will be hard to match with other heads if you change it.

That's a very good point. I'm torn atm. Both options really work for me. I like the "race car in the red", look. (10 points for movie reference...anybody?) It would look great and be different, (I already have 2 black cabs with black grilles) But The Classic, Black Cab/White Piping/Black Grille is really really hard to beat for style points, compatability, and the "timeless" quality. Iirc I think I remember Scott having white available as a grill cloth color too. Maybe a black cab with white cloth....now that would be unique.

Really appreciate it. I think I'm leaning towards the All Black today, (could change any minute), there are just so many options. It does look "pretty hot" in a stealth kind of way. My current three faves: All black, Red w/black grill, and Black with ('grey' grill), After contacting Scott about the "grey" grille I was informed it was White. Perhaps the white fades, got dirty, or the picture is just shaded oddly. Thanks again. Cheers, Tom |

Actually after thinking about it more....

I think the black tolex white piping and black grill cloth would look pretty good with the boa or all black. Black is pretty safe for any guitar head.

Appreciate it greatly! Everyone, Thanks to everyone for all the feedback it was very helpful. The amount of options available is overwhelming, for someone like myself. Torturous, (in a good way). You guys helped immensely. I did also consult my wife and kids, lol. I've settled on the Cabinet cosmetics I'll be pairing with the BOA head. Nearly pulled the trigger last week. Have to wait just a bit longer before funds become available, as an upcoming family vacation is taking my discretionary funds atm. Really looking forward to hearing the QR through creambacks and a 16 ohm load. I am currently getting Epic tones with my V30s/Alder body superstrat, maple board etc...
