So Ive had a Street Rod combo for a few years now. When I first got it I was seriously disappointed with the speaker that it came with. It sounds thin and fizzy with the amp. I thought maybe the amp was faulty. So I plugged it into my Genz Benz G-Flex 2X12 and it was magic! Articulate, great tone etc. So I simply quit using the Small Block. I began to think it was the Genz Benz cab compensating for the amp a little so I took my old Mesa ported 1X12 box and put a Celestion Vintage 30 in it and tried it. Again sounds great! Im thinking of replacing the Small Block in the Splawn combo cab with a Vintage 30 or something but Im not sure the sound it has now is from being in an open back cab or just a bad Small Block. Anyone else have this experience and any suggestions?
Thanks

No...I have 2 SB in my port city os 2x12 cab and it sounds HUGE. Maybe the speaker is blown?

Are you 100% sure that Small Block is even broken in? 20+ hours of decent hard playing to get that cone moving.
