After playing through my new 50 watt for several weeks, I have decided to find a new home for my 100 watt QR. This is one of the very first that Scott released with the Drop B+ option. It is in dead mint condition. It has fresh JJ ECC83S Pre-amp Tubes and 'True Pentode' Big Bottle JJ 6CA7 Power Tubes. Amp sounds amazing. I just know that the 50 Watt is a much better fit for my current needs and hate the idea of this amp sitting silently in my basement. JCM800 Style head box with Wheat grill cloth. Beautiful. I paid just over $2K for it new and it is in dead mint condition. Will be shipped in the original packaging. $50.00 Fed-X shipping anywhere in Continental US. PM or reply on this thread if interested. reverb.com/item/2567489-splawn-quickrod-with-drop-b-2014-blackAttachments:

Nice amp!! Do you find the 50 watter to have more "sag and feel" than the Drop B+? I have a 100w QR with the B+...so I'm curious

I tend to think the 50 watt is a little 'softer' but that may be because it has the Mid Cut which I really like. Also, the 50 watter achieves some compression form the power tubes earlier than the hundy, so I may be hearing that, too. Also, since the 50 watt has a dedicated 50 watt output transformer, it really does sound different than the 100 watt head in 'half power' mode - which is feeding a pair of tubes through a 100 watt output transformer. I will say, with the JJ 6CA7 glass, this Hundy sounds incredible. If it doesn't sell, I wont be broken-hearted!

That Splawn looks so fine! Super classic and tough-looking all at the same time! Good luck man!

SOLD!! Very ambivalent. Blasted thru it one last time before boxing it up. The amp just smokes with those JJ 6CA7s in it. Went crazy and used the proceeds (along with the revenue from selling my Hafler Triple Giant and Mesa 20/20) and bought a Bray 4550 Deluxe. Can't wait to do a side by side with it and my Purple 50 watt QR.
