     So everyone always talks about how good the small blocks are and I gotta say they are right on... Granted they're not at all broken in yet, so they are still a bit buzzy and not as warm as I'm sure they will be but they are a huge improvement over the G12t-75's. Not only in tone but in feel. I have talked in several posts about my QR feeling to stiff but it seems that these speakers really cure that. My amp has never had more sag and feel than right now. Once those puppies are fully broken in I can only imagine how phenomenal they will sound. I had to completely tweak my eq differently with the new setup and I'm sure Im not done tweaking yet. Now...the cab....I can't believe the air this thing is capable of moving. The bass response is unbelievable. It's built like a tank, was super easy to wire the speakers in and it's a great match to my amp. It's got a convenient top mounted handle that can also be used to wrap your cab mic cable in (I use a sennheiser 601, or something). So it basically dangles in front of the speaker...awesome mic btw. I'm going to use it this weekend at my gig...hey, what better way to break in the speakers? As soon as I get some free time I'll make a short video clip of the amp/cab....might not be for a couple of weeks though. Overall, I'm glad I didn't buy a cab that I would have wanted to sell. I feel that, thanks to some solid advice from you guys I bought the best cab I could!!! |

Wow what a nice cab, I'm sure pictures/videos wont do it justice.
Man I bet your combo sounds super, especially with the new speakers.
I'm so glad for you! I'd love to try that cab out with my setup.

The only reason I'm gonna use the Marshall is because my QR pedalboard isn't finished. It's going to be a pretty complicated setup using a looper switcher, junction box with some pedals in front and some in the loop etc. I'm going to make all the cabling myself so the lengths are all perfect. And the switcher will be able to perform all the functions the QR is capable of without having to use the foot switch that came with the amp.... |

So I just got home from my gig. I used the new Port City cab... The thing sounded incredible. Just huge. I gave the new small blocks a good pounding tonight!! It won't be long until they are completely broken in.
I was talking with the sound man while we were cleaning up( I've worked with him on several occasions in the past) and he told me that my tone is killer and that he never has to eq me...only adjust the fader for volume. I think that's a pretty big compliment when a sound man tells you that!!

So now I have about 8hrs on the small blocks....already they sound a lot warmer than when I first put them in. Awesome speakers....just amazing.
