I've had my JVM up on eBay for a little while now. Last week I get an email from a guy asking me what my bottom dollar on the amp is. I throw him a number and then don't hear back.
So today he emails me back and throws a number at me....$50 less than I told him. So I tell him, "you have a deal" and that I would remove the listing and invoice him tonight after work.
He immediately emails back telling me WAIT! I have some questions...so I repost the listing and send him a link. I tell him to re-read the listing and hopefully his questions will be answered.
So now it's been a couple of hours and no reply...apparently just wanted to "kick the tires"...
Ugh...don't waste my time bro...

So now the guy messaged me again and offers $100 less than the price I agreed on the other day. I told him he was pissing me off and if he wanted the amp that he needs to make an actual offer through the listing. I told him he was a tire kicker and that if he wanted the amp, that I wasn't making any deals with him....full asking price which IMO is pretty reasonable already.

I have a guy coming by the house to check out the JVM...looks promising!!! That's the way to go. Just remember to hide all your other amps, if you don't you'll be Sry. Remember your selling the JVM.

Yeah....
The guy had some issues with his PayPal account. He couldn't make any transactions for some reason. He is going to come back tomorrow and pay me cash instead. That's fine with me. No fees...

It sucks that we live in a world where you have to worry what somebody might do if they really wanted to steal your stuff. I always have to think twice about letting strangers in. It's too bad that, that's the way it is.

This guy was actually a nice guy. And he obviously trusted me...when he was having trouble with PayPal, I was trying to help him out since he wasn't familiar with navigating the site. He flat out told me his email and password!! I would never think of stealing from somebody like that but it still felt good that he trusted me.

Oh no that's not what I meant, when I said "what's that?". It's just I found that it can be hard to sell a used Marshall after the guy sees your Splawn.

Glad you got it sold.
No offense to anyone who has a JVM or owned one or even liked one - but I could just not gel with those things. I played the 410 maybe 4 or 5 times at different stores and different times and the 205 once or twice so my opinion is not based one single amp/experience. I could coax some decent tones out of the OD1 in green or orange but anything higher gain just seemed too compressed on contrived for a lack of better term. Not open and signing like the Splawn or some of the Plexis I've played. Hell I prefer the DSL to the JVM.
Cleans were nice and it definitely had a lot of options, but unlike Mesa and others, complexity and Marshall do not go well together IMO.
The Marshall 6100 is an exception to that rule I hear but I've never played one. I'd rather have a Class 5 TBH.
