Hi from Oregon!
As the title says I just pulled the trigger on a QuickRod B+ head. The plan is to keep this and move my DSL down the road. I haven't taken possession of the amp yet so I can't say I have much in form of questions at this time.
I play (lol, that's a laugh), old VH, Dokken, Ratt, Scorps, Priest, Whitesnake type stuff.
Glad to be here and hope learn a lot about these amps form you all! 
Now, off to buy a bias probe, never needed on a Marshall. ' |

Welcome Cipher Welcome to the fold! It is not quite as active around here as it used to be but feel free to ask questions and we will attempt to help in anyway that we can. Did you buy it new or used? What headshell?  Is the guitar in your avatar yours? I love all the bands you posted - especially the first 3. I recommend a Bias Rite probe from Weber and I wrote a biasing tutorial that is in the FAQ if you are interested. ENJOY! |

Thanks for the welcome Splawndude! I bought the QR used and it's traditional black & gold plexi style. Yes, the EVH in the photo is one of mine, love it! Great write up on the bias procedure btw, it will be a great resource.
I'm still weighing my options on the bias probes, considering the Weber, Amp-head, & BiasPro.
All kinds of things to research, gotta keep myself distracted while waiting for it get here!

mmmm My QR used to look like what you are getting. Did you see the news about the original 1 of 5 Charvel bumblebee guitars that was to go to Ed that was sold on fleaBay? Looks like you are looking at quality probes, just don't get the cheap ones (like I used in that tutorial)....tnx BTW (cheers)  |

I heard that the Charvel Bumblebee he used on Entertainment Tonight was going to auction, but nothing more than that. Yep, the headshell you pictured is same as what I have coming.

I don't believe it was one that he actually used. Wasn't the bumblebee he used on ET and on the VHII backside the one he put in Dimebag's casket? The one on eBay was just 1 of 5 that was ordered by Eddie and then sold to others after the fallout between Charvel and Eddie. They were to his spec and everything but I don't think he ever owned it. I could have that story mixed up. I think I read it on Rig-Talk. Anyway - congrats on your new amp. Make sure to do some kind of NAD thread  Edit: Found the info LOT 439 Seller's Estimate: USD 55,000 - 75,000 Serial#: 1398. Eddie Van Halen’s 1982 Charvel, made for, owned by, and played by Mr. Van Halen himself, with 1982 video and other full documentation. Van Halen reunited with Charvel Guitars in 2005, when the company produced the EVH Art Series guitars featuring Van Halen's characteristic striped paint jobs in black & white, yellow & black, and black, white & red. Apparently Van Halen personally ordered five guitars made by Charvel/Jackson in April 1982 before the cease and desist order was filed, or Grover Jackson gave the guitars to Van Halen as a peace offering. Welcome, cipher! My fellow Splawn noob!! Scott originally told me my amp would be 4-5 weeks...it's been about 3 weeks so far... But since they are a small shop with only 4 guys, it may be longer.
I also got the Drop B+ mod on mine....if figured, what the hell!!! I deserve it !!

It arrived today and so far...... I love this thing!
Had a slight hiccup though. 1 of the power tubes broke in transit and that was a heck of mess. For now I'm running it in 1/2 power mode (2 inner tubes only).
