Just ordered a SuperSport after conversation with Scott. First time Splawn owner. Can someone give me more info on the differences between Gear 1 and 2 and OD 1 and 2? Do they both affect both channels and what are the tonal differences, thx!

Not sure about the gears, but OD1 & OD2 are two different types of distortion on my older Splawn. OD1 is the modded Marshall type gain....hit a full chord and you hear every note with perfect articulation. OD2 is like a Soldano, much thicker sounding on single notes, but not as articulate for chords. OD1 = Van Halen. OD2 = Gary Moore.
Hope that helps, I am not familiar with the super sport however.

First gear and second gear are kinda like the difference between a six cylinder and an eight. One goes faster. It's just gain stages, some sort of JMP to a jcm 800, kinda..

Just the overdrive channel. You can get some dirt on the clean channel though, it has it's own gain knob.

Will do! Thinking of running a 1 x 12 (8 ohm) boogie cab with it. Scott talked me into upgrading to a creamback (8 ohm). Is the speaker extension wired in series or parallel? Curios as to what setting (8 or 16 ohm) to use on the back of the amp when adding the Cab. Any insight would be great! Thanks again for all thing Splawn! BTW, Scott is a class act!

If the speaker is at 8 ohms and the extension cab is at 8 ohms, set the amp to 4 ohms. Scott is the man!!

Thanks TuskerKevin! I don't think there is an option to run the SuperSport at 4 ohms, all I see is a selector for 8 and 16 ohms on the back. I have an email into Scott now and haven't heard back from him.

Later!
