Hey any one play a Freidman BE100? I'll be trying one out today and I don't really know what to expect. It seems like it's the new rock standard, the super amp of super amps. I think if I like it, chances are I'll probably pull the trigger. I'm definitely not trying to replace the QR, I freaking love that thing. Let me know what you guys thought about it, for those who played one, thanks!

Wow.... man these things are between seven-eight thousand dollars in my country. Are you looking at a brand new one? They're very impressive in the clips, but I've never even seen one in real life.

Wow thats way to much money for an amp! I think you can buy one brand new for 3 and a half of ebay, I'm sure they ship all the way to you. Iv never seen on in real life either, but finally found one used. I wanna say it's five years old and has all the best mods. I'm really stoked!

Post some clips when you get it man! I quite like the look of the Steve Stevens model. I played a profile of it on my mates PC and it was great, but then again I don't know how accurate it was - the software's Nitro profile felt nothing like the real thing. I'm just going to check out Freidman's website... hope I don't get GAS.

Ok so I made a mistake! I thought it was the actual Freidman BE100 brand. It's not, it is a Marshall modded by Dave himself with the mods that the Freidman BE100 has. It is technically the same amp. Ok so I didn't know what to expect when I walked into the room. And saw this Marshall Sitting there. let me just say OMG. So this guy is a buddy of mine through mutual friends and had the amp modded by Dave Freidman little before they released the actual modal. I can't explain what it sounds like except for very three dimensional, so much awesomeness clean gain on tap, wow. If you ever get to play one, be prepared to go back to the bank and take that loan. Lol pics! Do not be fooled by the appearance it is a Friedman be100.

It's interesting that the Freidman sounds so killer especially in terms of lead. But I have to say that I still love my Quickrod and would probably sell the Freidman before I ever sell my splawn. I feel like the Freidman is so much easier to play due to the articulated spongyness. It sounds phenomenal for rhythms too.
But Im so used to my QR. I remember when it was so hard to play it, it was always a struggle simply bcs it was so ballsy and you could turn down the gain and not loose the attitude. It is a raw amp, and I still feel like with all the rack stuff and other effects it still allows aggression and loads of bottom end.
My new Freidman amp is a great extention to my tone and compliments my Splawn so well, but if I had to choose one amp for a gig. Yep Splawn all the way.
Iv written an album worth of material on my QR and there's no going back. Lol
Mby I'll post a video of the Freidman one of these days.

Doug & Phil totally do that amp justice, great demos. First thing you notice is the Splawns have a different midrange, the attack sounds quite similar. The Browneye has that lush presence thing going on....It's kind of like the QR sounds like Lynch, and the Freidman sounds like Van Halen. Mean score getting a Dave original!

Either is awesome, but Splawn all the way for me...especially when you consider the cost!

Sucks they didn't get a QR in the mix. I think I liked the Mesa out of all. That's probably bcs I always thought that a splawn could be comparable to a Mesa. Or how I like to say is a Marshall and Duel Rec had a baby, Splawn. Well a really big baby.

It's cool how that 2204 still holds it's own too.

I totally agree about the Marshall, very stout with a lot of gurth but cuts through the mix great. Iv actually found that a BBE sonic maximizer works great for an amp like that.
Oh So I tryed to find the tubes that are in the Freidman, for one of my QR which are called ARS winged =C=. Apparently they are discontinued, and hard to find. But luckily for me they have similar tubes which are the RUBY EL34BSTR's. Iv used the EH el35 for years and no idea how the Rubys soun. Has anyone one tryed these with a splawn before?
