Picked up a SR and upon fire up, I get a pretty good woosh/static for a second or two. Is this normal? It doesn't matter if on standby for 10 seconds or 10 minutes. Once on and warm, if I hit standby between sets, the noise is substantially less. I've installed new power tubes and preamp tubes with no change. I do prefer the sound of the new pre tubes though.
Second, looking at the manual, it shows the tube layout like you're looking at the amp from the front/top. So am I correct in assuming the 1st stage tube is actually the 2nd tube to the right of the 2nd power tube when looking at the back of the amp?
Got a couple gigs on it, and decided tonight to swap in the only other speaker I hand, a Celestion G12H. It seems to be a bit more "mellow", which I liked. What is everyone using in their combo?
So far, it looks likes this will be replacing my Budda SD30, which replaced by Bogner XTC Classic. Just the right amount of grit on the clean channel, and with gears 1 & 2 and OD1/2 on each, it can cover 3 hours of playing covers from modern country to classic/modern pop/rock easily.

I have 2 Streetrods, both do the exact same thing, even with new sets of tubes. Do you have anything plugged into the effects loop jacks when this happens?Second, looking at the manual, it shows the tube layout like you're looking at the amp from the front/top. I had time to check into this yesterday. The only time the swoosh sound is heard, is when the loop volume is engaged.
I tried it a few times both ways. Without the loop active, no swoosh. I have had these amps for a few years without any other issues at all.
I'm not sure why this occurs.
