Help me design my Street Rod!!!???

Hi guys, been away for a while....trying lots of amps. Trying the Randall RM and Egnater modular systems, Mesa Roadster, Dual Rectifier, etc. Keep thinking I need lots of variety or an American style amp. I was wrong! I have been trying lots of amps and the Streetrod is for me. I have realized I don't like amps with lots of choices so I had to forget about digital and modular. I like plug n play and I am more of a British guy. I keep listening to Tool and other bands that use high gain monsters like Diezels and Mesa Boogies and the rhythm tones are massive...but whenever I play those amps, they never feel right under my fingers. When I had my new Dual rectifier, all the knobs and finicky EQ drove me batty, and solos never felt right under my fingers. I love my Bogner 20th Shiva and PWE Event Horizon and I know I will love the Streetrod. I tried the Mesa Electradyne and it was very unforgiving, huge sound but playing lead does not feel as good as my Bogner, PWE or a Splawn. So, for that huge modern rhythm tone like Tool, I will have to make due because in the end, I like simple, plug n play amps with the feel under my fingers that makes me want to solo and play! LOL. I have to be true to ME!

I should have listened to a good friend of mine who once he found what style amps work for him, stopped looking. He, like me is a Marshall guy and that is all he plays....and it shows in his great playing...rather than searching endlessly for different types of amps.....he, like me, knows he is a Marshall guy. In my case...a Bogner, PWE and Splawn guy.

Now, I know ordering a new SR head is $1800, but what is included? What if I want different tolex and salt n pepper? I want it to match my Stone Age cabinet which has black Marshall tolex, and salt n pepper grill cloth. Can I just go through the process on the site and choose what I want it too look like? I want it too look sort of like a Plexi.

Welcome back, Rich! I have had my Street Rod for 10 months or so, and gig it regularly. I love it even more now than I did the day it came in. Speaker took a little time to break in, but it's a rock and roll machine.

With my volume knob on my guitar, gear selector and solo boost, the SR covers a lot of ground. Best amp purchase I have ever made.

Let us know when you get it!

Order a new head. Thats what keeps Splawn making amps

Funny thing is, I hate 80s metal and don't play anything close to it....I just want another great Marshall style amp with snarl to add to my collection! Will be playing this sucker through Greenbacks or Creambacks! I play classic rock, modern indy rock, 90s rock and grunge and some modern rock. I am NOT a shredder.
Funny, people tell me to avoid Splawn unless I play shred or am a VH nut but I disagree....look at the guitarist from Collective Soaul...he uses a Quickrod.

The Creamback has more traditional mids and sounds like you'd expect agreenback to sound. It's just like the Heritage Greenback with more low-end grunt, but not it's not dark or tired sounding. The Lynchback has a a little less Greenback sizzle on top, and the mids are more mellow. It also has a punch low-end.

They have similar low end, except the CB's have traditional Greenback mids whereas the Lynchback may seem a bit more scooped (but not to the point of sounding overly modern). They still have a vintage vibe. The CB's sound like a Heritage GB with a bigger punchier low-end. We did this so they would sound 'big' in both 1x12 or 2x12 cabs, open or closed.
