hey guys, Maybe i was just too stoked to get my hands on a quickrod and didnt fully understand the mode/gear thing. The gears are not footswitchable, but the gears are? What are the gears? Sorry if this is a retarded question, it finally hit me tonight that I had no clue what I thinking when in relation to those items. However, in my defense i dont think it nessary to fully understand and comprehend an amp on a master level to purchase it, as I did this morning(man the next month/month and half is going to suck). As long as the tone is there, I dont care how many knobs/buttons i gotta go through

Well If I understand it right the gears only effect the lead/dirty channel. 1st gear has a plexi type sound. 2nd gear is a jcm 800 type of sound and 3rd gear is a hot rod marshall sound (more gain) Which ever gear you have it on will be the sound for your lead channel and you can boost that channel as well. The clean channel is just that with it's on eq. Correct me guys if I'm mistaken. I haven't received my QR yet. fretburner has it right...I think the solo boost only works in lead/dirty channel (though I think we should call it 'dirrty channel' in honor of Craig...)...I haven't tried to kick it in when on clean channel...

I've noticed that the solo boost does make the clean channel a little more 'sparkly' if you will, but it doesn't change the volume..

Each gear = A certain amount of gain, 3 gears, 3 being the max.
