Hey, just thought Id mention that I will be joining the ranks of you fine gentlemen tommorow, ordering a quickrod tommorow, Im friggen stoked! yeah the 4-5 weeks of waiting are going to suck, but it gives me some time to get the chops in order! The specs are: black tolex, pinstripe, with gold piping, gold logo and gold faceplate(yeah I know - plexi)...currently im playing a Marshall JCM 800 2205 but I've been downloading sound clips and have heard huge things about this amp and I'm really looking forward to this!...late

Welcome to the forum! Congrats on the QR! it took mine about 6 weeks to get. ( november 05) that was tough! but it was worth the wait!

thanks man, yeah the anticipation and the waiting may just kill me, but im more than sure the amp will make up for it when she gets here. hopefully it'll get here before a weekend camp that Im playing at the first weekend of March. That'll be the first major test of the amp.

yo, vanlaing...I like your choices for the head box. If you like JCM800 amps you wil absolutely LOVE the Splawn QuickRod! I thought the clips sounded good on his (Scott Splawn's) site but when I got the amp it sounded even better! It is worth the wait! One thing you will have to get used to is the amps 'purcussive' attack...very touch sensitive and will stop on a dime...so some of the 'slop' allowed by the JCM800 may be revealed on the QR...it will make you a cleaner player!

yeah i kinda figured that. I've always wanted that classis marshall look and hot-rodded sound so since I could custom it to whatever I wanted...why not. Im really looking forward to the "stopping on a dime". Im playing through a line 6 flextone 3 in my dorm room right now and it absolutely kills me how "flabby" the tone is. and even on my 2205 there is a decent amount of flab. the clip that cinched it for me, was one of dirtycraig's solo clips, the punchiness and clarity of the tone was unreal. Estrada's clip were killer too(from the eruption page), and im a huge Halen fan so the abiblity to go into that region is always nice. should be sweet to be the only guitarist I know in my area to own this and not the run of the mill marshall or mesa, who says 21 year old dont know tone!
