We had a gig Sat night, and good ole Guitargoyle from these boards made it out, thanks man! It was nice getting to chat with ya. I got someone to take a pic of us, if I can get her to send it to me I'll post it.
It was one of those shows when I was never able to really get any volume going, but still the QR sounded like the QR. I just had to use a little more gain than normal since the power tubes were never really in the game, and it sounded slightly less throaty, a little more grainy I'd say. But still, it's so nice to have an amp that doesn't completly change character as you change volume. I could use it in a coffee house and it would still sound awesome.
I tried miking the MOW instead of the Gov, but I didn't notice any big difference. Could be because there wasn't that much volume going to begin with, who knows. Our sound guy didn't budge the board EQ from the gig before.
Anyway, that's what I know for now. Later peoples.

Cool Mark, wish I could have been there ,, but theres that pesky 3000 mile drive,, LMAO. I only played Thursday last week.. I'll try to get a good gig report next week.. I got 4 more gigs this month. I agree the thing sound great at all volumes. I never let the soundguys bully me though. I play at whatever volume works for me and if they don't like it.. too bad. Luckily we bring our own PA to most shows so I never have that problem.

I make sure the sound guys aren't back there playing 'sir-mix-alot' with my amp...run EQ flat at the board prefer 2 mics pan half left the other half right...this is the BIGGEST thing: get a volume level during soundcheck or first song and leave it alone DONT TOUCH! I will run my solos and clean levels from my pedalboard...most pro sound guys I tell this too immediately get a piece of tape and tape over the fader when I ask them to leave it alone...the only problems I have had at gigs are with sound guys jacking with my EQ and levels...so, I take care of it and have had no problems doing it this way...the last gig I played outdoors I could swear they got the PA from Pep Boys...Manny Moe and Jack....I got Jack'd through the mains

Fortunately most of the time we use our own sound guys and PA, so it's rarely a matter of our soundman being a wimp. It's more a matter of if it's a new club, the layout, crowded or not, etc. On Sat, it was a fairly new club, it was small, tile floor, and I don't know what the owner is made of yet. So I was probably over-cautious in hindsight, but I wanted to be sure we didn't look like amateurs by not understanding proper volume. That's the quickest way to not getting re-booked, hahaha. It's a funny thing, once I know the hook is set, my volume somehow goes up in a hurry.

Maybe next time I can drag the wife out with me (she was in Tucson Sat nite). If I had been thinkin', I coulda' brought her camera with me and gotten some "Neil Zlozower Rock Star" photos of you and the QR in action. BTW, I don't know if you saw it, but I ,also, posted a gig report down in the "Off Topic" section. ;D
