once again, the quick rod proves itself to be the best amp in all the known universe....lol..well, for me at least it was funny cause the sound guy wanted me to get the sound below a certain decible level..so I did....and I noticed that the master was at like 7:30! so as soon as he left I turned it up to 9:00..not the loudest, but a hell of alot louder than he wanted it..heh..and my solo boost was on about 10:00..more than enough..this particular sound guy always uses direct boxes on amps..and I don't mind considering the monster sound system they have..so it sounded good commin' through the mains..and my cab was just another monitor... speaking of which, he turned me off in the monitors cause everyone could hear me without them...LOL.... friggin' amp rules! and despite some technical difficulties (which I don't have time to get into right now...have law and order commin' on in a couple minutes) was the most fun I've had playin' yet...they rebooked us right after the first set...can't complain about that

nothin like the good 'ring' in the ears after a loud gig...endorphines are kicked in...awesome! sound guys are typically the enemy to a good cranked rock amp...not many can handle it well...WELL DONE! SHREDER!....btw, get tivo and you won't be anchored to that tv...

ok, so here's the rest of the story...
early in the second set (80's type stuff..my personal favorite set...ballzed up versions of mrs. robinson, 8675390, etc etc) there's just no sound commin' outta my amp..first thing I looked at...the wah...friggin' battery died....so we did the usual 'uh, sorry..technical difficulties tom foolery and I took the wah outta the chain...bam..worked again...I hit a monstrous open cord (can't remember if it was a G or a D..might've been a D) and stuck both hands in the air while it rang out....the crowd was goin' nuts...I was laughin' my ass off....lol...so, back in business!! lol...
anywho, later in the second set, the bassplayers new-ish mesa head just dies!!! completely....nothin' commin' out...this was durin' boys of summer...so the sound guy comes up and tries to figure out what the hell's wrong with it....while he's messin' with cables he knocks the other guitar players cable OUT! about 20 seconds before his big lead...lol...so at that point it was just me and the drummer cause there's no singing at that point....we get all that sorted out..
in the third set, I inadvertantly knocked the cord outta the wah (I got a fresh battery inbetween sets) and I was out for a little bit during a song....lol....everything that could go wrong really did go wrong, but we just chugged on and kept playin...hey, that's rock, right? hahah
anywho, we got it taped..hopefully the audio's not total schit...guy's gonna edit it for us and post the file in the net ASAP....we'll see how it turns out

Sweeet Shreder!! Can't wait to the video... Batteries + Gig + Beer = pain in the @ss trouble waiting to happen. Thats happened to me many times in the past. I eliminated all battery pedals now and am just using the Noise gate, Boss tuner and phase 90.. that 30 seconds it takes to change batteries during set breaks can be better used for getting a shot, socializing etc etc etc..

Dudes, you need to use a power supply or adapters! I gave up using batteries fro that reason. I would get to the gig and something would be crapped out every time, mostly because I would leave it plugged in at practice. I have about 7-10 pedals I run and not one uses a battery. I use the Dunlop DC Brick and that thing rules! Super quiet and can run 7 9-volt pedals and 2 18-volt pedals at once. I also had my Vox wah modded by Keeley and he added a DC power supply jack and LED so I know when its on.

I do too, I use the VHT valvulator, it supplies AC, plus line voltage regulation PLUS, low impedance signal for saved tone! I wouldn't play a show with a pedal without it.
