outdoor semi trailers, in the early 80's,, the bass player.. quick setup in the dark.. used guitar cable for a speaker cable.. melted and caught fire.. was awesomel... then singer fell through the rotted semi trailer stage.. I laughed so hard I couldnt get him out.. being drunk really made it funnier, they (roadies) pushed him back up from under the stage hahaha.. I laughed harder, then his voice blew out, sounded like micky mouse, ( imagine smoke on the water like that hahah) My new ibanez floor effect board ( first of its kind) quit, blew a crossover in the PA, fire in fire pit got out of control and burned the field behind us, got paid 125 bucks, went to all night Resteruant, started throwing biscuits, they called the police on us. bent 3 out of 4 rims on pickup on the way home. just one of those nights i wont ever forget. Common..!! share the stuff! this is good history! saw a backyard party band where they set up right behind the back door and the band roadie was unscrewing and screwing a lightbulb in and out of the porch light to get the strobe effect...lamest thing I've ever seen...another band 'TAWA'..ugliest band on the planet, but-ugly lookin guys, well the fat guitar player got on top of his half stack so he could jump off to open the gig...well he peeled out and trashed his amp landed on his face and jacked-up his guitar, sprained his wrist...I laughed for days/weeks/months/years...

we played Palmdale out in the sticks...major gig, 30 kegs at once over 10K people...out in the middle of a cow pasture...stage was literally 12 feet in the air so you had to be back a ways for any band visual....after we played went to the owners house on the property to get our 'Headline' pay...$500.....he comes out of the house with a buddy and both had sawed off double barreled 12g shot guns...they told us to 'haul @ss or die'...our roadie starts arguing with them...they stick gun in his mouth....welp, we ALL hauled @ss...and lived... You dont mean " Nickstock" do you....at that camp ground? Tree

You dont mean " Nickstock" do you....at that camp ground? Tree I don't remember the guys name...he was 'famous' for throwing these huge things...it was 78' or 79' and we were one of the 'main' bands out of about 15 or 20 bands...I remember alot of people kept shouting for us to play 'My Cherona' (which we DID NOT) it was a straight 1 hour for $500 at prime time (11pm) gig...Our main 'roadie' knew the guy and set the gig up....when we went to collect, at first the guy said he didn't make as much money as he expected...then he said he would send us the money...when the roadie argued with him he said...ok, ok I have it in the house just a minute....came out with a buddy and a couple of shotguns!!! I was in the van saying: 'man lets split' but even with the shotguns the roadie guy kept arguing with them....until they crammed a shotgun into his mouth and said: 'one more word and I am blowing your head off'...I was scared, these weren't your ideal citizen kinda guys....looked like H#lls Angels or something...I thought they were gonna do it, they were angry as it was...anyway, we got the fool into the van and split...he was mouthing off out the window etc...the guy yelled back: 'get off my property before I kill all of ya' etc...a bad scene for sure...they built a huge bon fire in the middle of that corral, had dozens of these small sheds where they had kegs of beer...it was a cool gig to play but man, we got hosed...we were tired, drunk and POOR!

You just have to love roadies! They are the best My older brother and his friends LOVED to roadie for us...we would go to the starwood and whiskey and they would watch the pro roadies there so they could learn how to act...when we played those places we had to turn people away to roadie for us (we had A TON of chick action at our gigs) the roadies got their share of the chicks, we gave them free 'ArchRival' t-shirts...(no pay really)...my brother was the best roadie... man, I would come up on stage, guitars tuned perfect, picks on tape along mic stand... amp on stand-by set perfectly (he switched it 'on' when I got plugged in)...pedalboard and cables are all duct taped down...he was the man....
