I will first have to say thanks, and second have to ask you to lay off the crack. But seriously, thanks, I never take kind remarks for granted. But I truly cringe when I see/hear those clips, it's just so NOT representative of what we sound like. Thank god. It never fails, play a whole long set and the one that gets recorded is the one where all the negative forces of nature come to together and throw a monkey wrench into things. Plus, we just fired our rhythm player a couple days before, that was trippy going alone after 3 years. Little things like that make everything seem weird when you have no time to dial things in. BTW, the amp I was using was my Splawn Marshall 1987x, before I got my QR. No soundcheck, no tweaking, horrible monitor mix drowning everything out, just plug in and play. don't do crack =D I dig the raw sound you got goin'... beleive me, if your tone sucked, I wouldn't have said a word =)

cowbell, I thought it sounded good too.. your too hard on yourself, arent we all? Ha.. why do you think my video is edited so short,, too many clams!! ha.
Also, I think maybe getting rid of your rhyhm player was good idea, from the other clips.
I have a wah clip somewhere posted here,, I don't use it with the band, but I do own one,, LOL Not a big wah fan unless is SRV... for example, I hate Kirk Hammets lead playing and someone shold shove his wah up his @ss for using it so much. LMAO..
If you use a wah more than 10% of your setlist solos its too much,, sorry. And for the record, chicks think it sound stupid... hee hee.

I like the chickenhead knowbs because you can see where they point easier onstage. I wish I had thought to ask about them when I ordered mine a few months ago. I have a purple/gold QR. Maybe I'll slap some on anyway, where can you get them? Hey Mark, You can get those chicken heads from Antique Electronic Supply in Tempe. They even come in eight different colors...including purple, if you REALLY want to "pimp out" the Splawn. ;D I've built a few tube amps, and gotten almost everything I needed from those guys. The only problem is that they do primarily mail order business, so you have to call your order in the day before you pick it up. (Or pay the shipping to have it sent to you. Heck, if you live on the west side you may prefer that.) Here's their address: secure.tubesandmore.com/BTW, I live about a mile from Famous Sam's, so I'm gonna' try to get over to see you guys tonight. I haven't bought my Splawn yet, so it'd be nice to hear one in person. TTYL

How can you click it in 10% of the time if it isn't on the floor in front of you? hhhmmmm wah hater?...you might even be president of the national wah haters club of America! (NWHCA)...well, cowbell, here's the deal, dirrtycraig and shreder are very opinionated...but, they are polite nice guys too...(chicks don't dig 'wah'...WHAT! where did you get that?)...I asked my wife (she's a chick and so much more..) and she likes the wah!...here's the book on wah pedals: about 15-20% but don't leave on for an entire solo, click it on for a phrase or 2...that's it! wahs are cool for riffing too...( dirrtycraig..thought you'd sneak that in...well, your busted!).

Ah, you guys are awesome, thanks for the kind words. I seriously appeciate it.
As far as the wah goes, yep, I'm a wah guy. I use it pretty often, in fact I have try to remind myself to lay off it........lol. Let's see.........10% would be 4 songs a night.......uh oh.......I do more than that in a set probably! LOL I think I'm in the 20% club, but I'm going to blame that on Hammett and Slash, it's THEIR songs we're covering!
Anyway, for you wah lovers out there, it's a Fulltone Clyde, it's really cool.

I had no idea any of you guys may be local or I would've invited a long time ago. We're play mainly in this part of town, Famous Sam's, O Kelley's, Cactus Jack's, the only thing we play on the other side of town is Joes Grotto. I've bought a bunch of stuff from Antique Electronic Supply, thanks for the tip on the knobs. I like that place for tubes and stuff.

I keep forgetting to click it in cause i'm slopping all over the place...the wah actually 'slows' me down and forces some rhythmic action...Hammet and slash are good rockers...these snobs are too hard on em'...

I love Slash, but Hammett? c'mon, how many times can you play that same 2 string pentatonic lick with a wah before someone smacks you and says, dude sit down and try something else. It really seemed like he was getting better on ..and Justice for all, then it was all downhill and wah-city after that.

It really seemed like he was getting better on ..and Justice for all, then it was all downhill and wah-city after that. I was watching a Metallica video with those knit-wits in the studio...Hammet could do NOTHING unless those 2 nazis (Lars and James) first inspected EVERY note he played...they told him EXACTLY what THEY wanted on each song...so, if he is simplistic it is because those two knucleheaded ego-maniac band nazis won't allow him any room to play what he wants...I don't think he's a great player but he does play to the song and definitely doesn't overplay...another thing: we guitar players know that the wah is a wanky effect BUT if used sparingly and correctly/tastefully the (non-guitar playing) AUDIENCE likes it...another 'tool' to change things up a bit, that's all...

I've not been a Hammit fan since, well, like Craig said since about Justice. Actually, I guess I should say I've not been a much of a Metallica fan since then, they just got away from all the things I used to like about them. So I kind of lump Hammit in with the slide of the band as whole, because later on I never heard Hammit play much of anything that interested me. Could be the others' fault, like Jim said.
I think Slash is cool.
Back to wahs, I'm a huge Michael Schenker fan, so I like that vocal wah tone he uses alot. Alot of time when I use mine, I move it very little, it makes my wankery sound more melodic.
I'll see if I can get a video clip at tonights gig and post for you guys. I'll have a shot for Craig..........
