amazing....just amazing...I was just playing it through a crummy peavy cabinet...4x12...weird dimensions...I think the thing was older than me..but the splawn STILL sounded great..I got the master up to about 10:30 or so..and that was about as loud as anybody in the band would want it at practice up until now I've always used it at pretty loud bedroom volumes..so this is the first time I could crank it up... it's an entirely different animal at volume..and I mean that in the best way possible...it's monstrous...harmonics leap off the neck..and the attack's very percussive...no flub..but not sterile or dry sounding either..nice and full..you can hear all the notes in complex chords.... and for anyone who thought that third gear might be too much...I don't think so...I have my gain on about 10:30 and when I opened the amp up with third gear it sounded friggin' sick! and the solo boost is killer...very liquid...very easy to play.. can't wait to gig with this puppy through my splawn cab =D

Right on!! I agree 3rg gear is where I am at most of the time. gain 6 to 7. then added a ds-1 in front ( keeley ultra) for over the top saturation. love it. open up the amp and get it on! got the bass player and drummer over last night.. QR was killer, but needed to take off a little of the top. I think thats where I read splawn cabs with red/gov's come in and take care of that. Jimbax advised the celestions are too bright. more ebay equipment! I guess I should open a ebay store LOL

Unless you are playing Shea stadium...I'd like to see you roll up a QR 1/2 stack on any club stage and set the master at 12 o'clock and start playing....I bet the sound guy will snuff that fire out soon enough!!! or set your cabinet outside facing traffic...LOL!

hehe, well to put it in perspective, I had my master at about 10 30 or so and it was pretty much loud enough..and that's with the bass player's cab right in my ear =) I probably coulda turned it up a bit more to hear myself better (or maybe upped the mids a bit) but I didn't wanna piss anyone else off
