and I'm REALLy lovin' third gear now! lol... the best way I can think of to describe it or compare it to a tone that people would be familiar with would be to say something along the lines of Nuno's Pornografitti tone... hee heeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeee..... I'm gonna be bringing it to practice on friday...but that's through a crummy cab....first true test will be on december 18th

How far from the strings do you have it? Are you referring to the BBQ or your original pickup? FWIW, I generally keep the pickups fairly concservative, like around 4 or 5/64" on the high E, maybe 6 or 7/64" on the low E, at least for the BBQ. Things seem to breathe more with more distance there.

this is my lynch with the JB...I haven't had my rio grandes put in my petrucci yet...and quite honestly i think it's gonna be a little while before that can happen...
not sure how far away the JB is now..I'd have to go home and measure it...

Sometimes that makes all the difference in the world as it can tame a harsh pickup and let more of the guitar to come through.
