You know...I just tried to record with the mids scooped and got just OK results...the BIGGEST problem is that both my main guitars have weak PUs (single coils and mini humbuckers...weak!)...I feel like Don Knotts jamming with those (hehehe) I sold a SWEET Peavey EVH (American Made) a few months ago because I wasn't playing it....THEN I get the Splawn....welp...don't that just figure???

You get a nice fat tone from your Ibanez Satriani...what PUs are in that thing?

You get a nice fat tone from your Ibanez Satriani...what PUs are in that thing? all stock.. I only changed the pots and removed the push pull volume taper, and made the taper permanant. coil split push/pull is still there but never use it. Since I havent tried it yet.. I will try my Dean Flyin V from 1980 with the dimarzio Super distortion in it. Brings out the Schenker era! ( avatar pic at left is the Flyin V guitar)
