I have the Buzzbomb AND a new Splawn cab...Splawn's 4x12 (w/ Emminence in X pattern) kicks the New York crud out of my Buzzbomb (great 2x12 cab but NOT in the same sonic category...) I use SM57 pointed straight into speaker about 1" off center of cone and right against the grill AND a GREAT close mic in the Sennheiser e908 designed for guitar cabs same mic position on a different speaker....blend the 2 together (both live or studio) FAT and amazing 3D sound...

We all have met primmaDonna sound guys if they are cool and not all stressed/spazzed out as they tend to get, then they will do it...I typically will try to 'help' them get it set up...this works great because their egos won't allow anyone to 'help' them so they hurry up and mic both speakers...then, later, they get a kick out of trying to blend/pan them (in my experience)
