hi gang, just heard from scott, he's working on a new amp design...as he describes it, "I am working on a new amp called the Super Stock which will have the same clean channel and features as the QR with an OD channel similar to a stock JCM 800"
this thing sounds like it'll crush!

CRAP!!! That's what I'm looking for! I use the low input on my Quick Rod and barely get the gain above 10 o'clock. I jumped early and missed the boat.

you got me..., but, you only live once ;D Dude, don't get me wrong, I'd love both... And, if I get something with decent pay when I grad next May I could VERY WELL have both. But, right now, I'm just gonna see if we can book dates up that way this summer and swing by to check it out... If it fits me, I'll see about dumping the QR as sad as that'll be, I just don't need the extra gain and I'm really curious as to what this puppy has to offer. Peace out.

hey... I own what I believe to be an early generation quick rod. two part question...
1) my particular model doesn't have a half power switch. when he went to this was anything else in the circuit changed?
2) The jcm-800 clone amp sounds like an awesome idea... Im a huge zakk wylde fan and although my current splawn gets pretty close with an overdrive pedal in front it doesn't quite push the pinch harmonics like ZW heads do. I was just wondering how close this clone amp would be to an actuall 800 or more appropriately "zakk wylde's" heads?
Thanks in advance to everyone and thanks to scott splawn for the huge round tone Im presently enjoying

can't really answer the question about the new head, but the purple quick rod in my avatar is an early generation one without the half power switch and it sounds just like the new one i received a few months ago...
