Hey everyone. Over the past week I have been digging out my Paul Gilbert Instructional Videos. I have been watching Terrifying Guitar Trip and Guitars From Mars 2. I bet Craig has worked with them? I have Intense Rock I & II, Guitars From Mars I & II, and Terrifying Guitar Trip. Some of the stuff is really kicking my tail! Especially the string skipping arpeggio's. I can play them, my left hand wrist starts to get sore. Same thing goes for the Colorado Bulldog into. That thing is the most wicked guitar shred riff that I have ever tried to attempt!!!!!!!! I have a backing track to Colorado Bulldog and I was wanting to record it. I might have to practice it like a madman.........mainly cause of that intro. I can handle the rest of the song.....its just that frickin intro! LOL
Anyone else here ever work with PGs video's?

Sure I did when I was about 18 I got Intense Rock I. I've never seen those other ones. I don't play arpeggios like Gilbert, I play them like Vinnie Moore.. It fits my style better for whatever reason.. But the alternate picking exercise Gilbert shows you in video I are priceless. The main one is actually a not for note lick off of Al DiMeloas "Mediterranean Sundance" live solo. I give Gilbert the credit for showing it to people, but DiMeola the credit for inventing that amazing picking style.

Very cool stuff. His alternate picking stuff is awesome. If you can find them, you ought to check out the Guitars From Mars stuff. Guitars From Mars 2 has a lot of blues/ rock stuff. Makes a lot of sense the way he explains things. I love the string skipping arpeggios. Very cool!

He likes a lot of PRESENCE in his sound too! LOL He has always had a crazy sense of humor in his stuff. Kind of like Intense Rock 2. He has those crazy videos playing behind him. Someone going up and down an escalator, or the camera panning around a bunch of old wash machines in a junk yard. When my friend watched it for the first time he said, WHAT THE F***!
