Tubez..........did you find yours to be heavier than other speakers that you have owned.

I have a Mojo/Marshall 4x12 straight cab with Scumback H75 and M75 x pattern...sounds totally 'vintage'..the sound I was looking for...I would have kept my Splawn 4x12 cab but person that bought my Quick/ProMod wanted the full 1/2 stack or nothing. I am using a Diezel Einstein 50 watt head with the mojo cab and pre-Rola type speakers...perfect for me. I'm totally sorry that the Splawn stuff didn't work for me...I tried everything and spent much time and MONEY to make it happen...it didn't. As always Scott's amps are TOP NOTCH and VERY popular, so, I am most pleased for Splawn Amps and all the guys that use em'. I kinda miss being abused by you scoundrels....Peace...

Dude, I connected the Scumbacks and they freakin rock. They officially blow everything out of the water. Get the H75 and H55....30watts. I got them in an x pattern in my 4x12. Amazing! They are smooth, clean, woody, and have great bass response. You have to have both the H75 and H55 to get the full advantage. The H55s have more bass but the H75s have more top end. Its balanced!

Let me also say that the Quick Rod smokes through them!

I originally ordered 2- H75 and 2- H55 speakers from Jim....he sent the H75s and I had to wait for the H55s (backordered 2 weeks). I hooked up the H75 speakers in my Mojo 4x12 cab and was VERY impressed with the sound but they were as 'dark' as I wanted. Well with the H55s coming I knew they would be even bassier than the H75s so I called and changed to a pair of the brighter M75 speakers (the 'H' stands for heavy magnet and 'M' for medium) which are copies of the standard 20 watt Celestion greenbacks (which I love) the combo works GREAT with the Diezel head I'm using..very sweet.

Jim, the way I understand it is that the "H" Series is like the original G12H30s and the "M" Series is like Greenbacks. You have a good setup going on too! I wanted the H55s mixed with the H75s for a good balance. Right now I am using 2 amps through my Scumback cab. The Quick Rod and my Mojave Peacemaker. Both amps just kill through it! The Quick Rod is one meaty beast through the Scumbacks. If I use it in 1st gear OD1 and OD2 it sounds like the early master volume Marshall tones. Gears 2 and 3 don't sound too great with it cause there is just too much gain. I think that the 65 watt Scumback would be more suited to Gears 2 and 3. And I might think about doing that for my other 4x12. Loading it with the H75 65watters. That way I would have 2 cabs for different musical situations. My classic rock cab and my metal cab! LOL

Mot,
Glad to see you got your speakers and apparently your diggin them. I haven't tried the M versions and just went with what I liked most of the sound clips. Now all you have to do is get rid of the splawn... ;D

I think I'm gonna go for the H75's. I play a bit more into the hard rock than you do probably. First I have to see how I feel about my QR with the Vintage 30's I have in my 4x12 now.

My first Scumback arrived today, the H55 30 watts 16 ohm. I dropped her in my Marshall cab with Vintage 30's. The H55 totally stands out and sounds much better the others. It has a more rich vintage type of sound to it. It even sounds good in 2nd gear with the gain on noon. This week I have an H75 coming too. If I like the combo, I'm buying two more ASAP. I got a great deal on the Scumbacks used, only paying a little over $100 each with shipping.
