Klons and Klones

Can you guys tell me what is so special about Klons or Klon clones for that matter? Apparently there are new Klons coming out at $2000. I cant think of a single pedal worth that amount. I used to use an EHX Soul Food in front of my 6505+ and I liked it a lot and I've considered a few other klon types at the $180 mark but seeing them come in more than $300 just seems like price gouging. Maybe if the parts were no longer available I could see 300 but anything else just no.

There is nothing special about them imo that justifies that price.
I have a soul food and I still have a PedalMonsters clone. Hey make a good clean boost or low gain OD. Think the Gin Blossoms, “Till I hear it from you”...
Certainly not a pedal I’d use for my main dirt sound.

I would use the Soul food as a boost instead of the Maxon OD808 sometimes for a different flavor.It works great and is only $79. For $2000 it should come with an amp. I guess its worth what someone will pay but I would like to ask the guys who buy it "why?". Even the Dumble I can kinda see since they were made for the individual. I just dont see the mystique and a crowd wouldnt be able to tell

I’m assuming you know the story behind the original Klon’s Bill was making in the 90’s?

But yes, like you said it’s worth what somebody will pay for it.
Would I pay that much....no F’in way. I’d buy another Splawn!

I think I read that he was doing it to help out a friend and thats the reason he is starting again which is cool but $2000.....
