I still have my 2007 Quickrod and just cranked it up after sitting under a cover for almost 3 years. I just saw that there is a B+ option, mid scoop switch, and also a new old voicing switch now on new ones? I think I may have seen the B+ option before on here maybe? 1) What exactly is the B+ option? Tighter or looser bass? 2) Midscoop? Why? Guitar tone should have strong mids. 3) New old voicing? So you get the old growl or the newer fuzzy buzzy tone?
Man it's good to hear the Splawn growl again after using a EVH 5150 III excusively. The Splawn tone is so much bigger, however I forgot about the volume taper going from mousefart to full on galaxy busting volume. I think I might have killed my neighbors cat 2 acres away hitting a open drop b chord.

Welcome back!! Im a new Splawn owner (since May) It's been slow here lately but there are still some great guys to chat with.
1) the Drop B+ drops the voltage to 90volts to give the amp more sag. 2)the mid switch makes the amp voicing closer to the Nitro 3) the new/old switch goes between the pre-2006 voicing which is a little more aggressive and a newer more focused(?) sound. It's a very mild difference.
I have a 2016 model and the volume taper issue is not an issue on my amp. It also has the loop volume so you can get a decent tone at low volumes. I don't really use it though.
Welcome back man!!!

Cat killer! Jk! Glad to have you back brother. I still have not played the new model quickrod but I want to so bad. It kinda sucks bcs I need to probably sell one of mine , but hey I have two so it's not that bad. I'm just not using the other and it's collecting dust. Hopefully I'll try one soon, but I'm not sure if I'll be buying one in the near future, I really love my stock quickrod and I have it dialed in to were I just leave it. But then again who knows..

I just logged in to the forum for the first time in many years... I recently sold my Dr. Z Maz 18, committing fully to my '06 Quickrod. I always saw my Maz as my "old man amp"... The one I'd have forever because it was such an adult sound. But, the Splawn is just way more fun, and with the guitar volume rolled back I get in the ballpark of the gain I was using with the Maz. It's nice to be back.
