FEDX is driving to my place this week with this wonderful PROTO! I changed the Purple shell to BLACK Gator front and back, it looks sick, and is a first using GATOR for Splawn amps! Blessed, vids to follow soon! Stay Tuned

The 800 style heads are my fave, white and gold is the best mix. Is it a regular QR inside?

Its the new lower voltage QR that gives you a looser feel or spongier feel. Basically like when EVH used a variac, this QR does the same thing without melting your power tubes like Eddie did

Maybe you can help me out with a question. I may have worded it wrong in the qr forum. "Low Sag" Quickrod. What does that mean? What's the difference between the two qr's? Is there going to be a second option as far as having a qr built?

As far as I remember, the idea was to take a 2012 QR and lower the B+ voltage to simulate the use of a variac by Eddie Van Halen, resulting in a little more drawl or sag in the way it reacts to your playing, versus the usual uber tight Splawn articulation.
Rikk can obviously tell you lots about how that works out. Don't know if they're going to offer it as an option or are just trying stuff out. It's got to be fairly subtle. Would be cool to have on a switch!

Would be cool to have on a switch! This is a quick one take improv...just did whatever experimenting with the tone of this amp. Simply stellar tone boys and girls. REALLY loose, noticeably different than the original QR. Both are awesome and this one is just as articulate just a bit more forgiving, but it will let you know if you make a mistake as well
