1st Splawn purchase-QR or SR?

I guess they just didn't work for me. I had a Buzzbomb with Sugarcone speakers. I spent $500 on those speakers. Also tried some Eminence speakers. After two years, I found the BB too congested and not big enough sounding. When I switched to a Bogner Oversized 212 it was a real eye opener in terms of big, full tone. But again, we all have different tastes....you might hate the Bogner...so no offense meant.

I am not sure what to do. I don't need or want a 100 watt head and the Streetrod head with a Splawn 212 could be perfect but I need to get used so I am guessing I will have to settle for a used SR combo. One thing though is Scott said they make a matching 112 extension cab I could use with the combo and that could be a killer little stack and portable.

I think the 1x12 matching cab runs around $400. I'm thinking about getting one loaded with a big block if I get a SR

Why the Big Block? you heard it is good? The Small Block should be thicker. Is the back of the Streetrod closedf off completely? The one I saw was vented or semi open back. That combo nad a 112 cab could be a very versatile little stack for any scenario. Don't you agree!
I also have a chance to get a used Splawn 212 for $300 but it has the Manowar/Governor mix which I don't want.
I see used SRs for as low as $1100 and used QR heads as low as $1200.

Man I would love to find a SR for $1100. Cheapest I've seen is $1500. The back on the combo is vented, so it's not sealed. My thought on getting a Big Block in the 1x12 cab is just to give me a little different sonic vibe if I'm recording.

I saw a Quickrod on Ebay tonight for $1199 buy it now. And I was referring to the Streetrod head, sorry. But I have seen a few SR combos sell for $1400.

I don't really like combos so I usually talk about heads.
