Thank you sir. That's just the camcorder mic. If I record direct into Quicktime Pro I can mix sources (video from the camera, sound from a proper mic in front of the speaker) but then I can't do much in terms of editing.

Great stuff bro... you know I've been a fan for a good while now.... keep playin and posting.... and keep talking too if ya wanna, I kinda dig the accent... and was that also a female voice I heard at the end? You should ask her to talk too, sounds like she comes from your neighborhood

Cheers, Hobbs! I am one of these guys who can't even stand to hear his own voice back on an answerphone message, but jeez, I never met a waitress here who didn't like it. (And my gal thought I'd edit all her talking out. I sneaked that little bit in at the end like an outtake.) Thanks for watching my noodlage, and happy holidays!

Great tones and playing, nice blend of ideas as well (Eddie, Nuno, Yng, etc).
Those stock pups (?) sure sound fine to me!

Very nice! Interesting thing about the position markers... I've noticed that on some guitars I've owned in the past too. And, as in your case... the guitar I built (Warmoth Strat) they line up perfectly down the center from the first to last marker. I've found, even on guitars with very tight neck joints, there's some play with bolt-on necks. A little trick I learned helps deal with this. If I assemble the guitar and everything lines up... cool!. If not, I relieve the string tension (not to the point where they're floppy, but enough that they're not a significant pull on the neck), then loosen the neck bolts a bit and line the neck up so the outside strings are the same distance from the outside edges of the fretboard, then tighten the neck bolts and re-tune, and bingo! I've done this several times when either building a new guitar or replacing a neck or whatever, and it works for me. An added bonus... the position markers (at least every time I've done this) will be perfectly centered between the G and D strings all the way up the fretboard.

Great tones and playing, nice blend of ideas as well (Eddie, Nuno, Yng, etc). Those stock pups (?) sure sound fine to me! Yep, stock. Even before buying I planned to swap the pickups, but I kept them stock for the video to make it more useful as a demo. The JB seems to sound great on playback! Which is sort of annoying as I really don't get on with that pickup live in the room. It seems to always want to be outputting '10' regardless of pick dynamics or switching to fingers etc., when I like a pickup to be more interactive. I had a friend who always shouted, even if it was just us two in a quiet room. This is him in copper. Currently there's a Saraceno PATB-3 in that slot, but I think that's coming out. It's a pup I'd always imagined would sound heavenly but it's pretty strange really. Great thick singing tone for leads, but no attack, it's too soft-edged for rhythms. I gotta have bite in a guitar like this. Candidates are a BBQ (which to me sounds how this guitar looks...) or a 59-Custom 5 hybrid, which I'd have to build. The stock neck position '59, though, is a great performer in this guitar. I already like those and this is the best I've heard one sound. I'd no idea it would be so bright and articulate due to the single vol. circuit, it's much more lively than in my other guitars. Notes have great 'shape.'

I'm glad I'm not the only nerd who notices. ;D I did try something similar to your tip here once with an Ibanez, but that settled back into the offset position when the strings were back up to tension and I had to eventually sort side-shim it with a little piece of card. Maybe I didn't go He-Man enough on the bolts when I tightened them, or maybe it just depends where the source of the problem is on different guitars. Thanks for checking out the video, fellas.

So it's been a few weeks Ayton-e...how are you feeling about those stock pickups now? Has the JB swayed you or are you still fully intent on changing it? Just curious because I think my next guitar is gonna be the black or white version of the same model (the PRS deal didn't work out for me...still have new guitar gas, lol) and I have no guitars in my collection with a JB, thinking I will like it with the QR...sure sounds good in you vid anyways.

Cheers for the nice words, boys. 'Fraid I can't tell ya much more, because I did remove the JB back then and haven't felt like trying it again. It's got to partially be a touch/response/feel thing because I too like how it sounds in the video and other recordings, I just don't like it when I'm playing it. If you're okay with the always-on-ten dynamics, which isn't absurd for this type of guitar, maybe you'll be fine. The Saraceno Parallel Axis thingy that I put in instead is an oddball pickup, but it actually grew on me. I wrote about it here. That stock '59 in the neck is still absolute kick-ass, though! Never heard one sound so good. If you only ditch the bridge pup, and sell it, you're not going to be out much cash on a replacement, Kab.
