Hey guys, just got my nitro, I bought it from a dude at rig talk, a 2010 model in excellent condition, looks like new. Anyways, I am still in the tweaking phase y'know, trying to find the "sweet spot" and I don't really get the loop volume. At my current settings, if I have the loop volume at 0, and the volume at 0, I still hear my guitar, and then If I crank up the volume, and then crank up the loop volume at the back, I don't really see any difference. Is this normal?

i don't have it on my nitro but it is getting put on but from what i understand the loop volume is there so you can use more volume to push the tubes to get a more beefy sound without having it be super loud,so you can run the volume on the front at 9:00-10:00 and then taper the total overall loudness with the loop volume so you get cranked tube amp sound without cranked tube amp volume levels.
off on the loop volume would be full volume cut (no sound or REALLY low) and the loop all the way up would be no volume cut(true volume level for where your front volume/solo level is)
hope this helps.

Make sure you have the loop switched "on". Sounds to me like maybe you have it switched "off". I don't have a Nitro, but do have a Quick Rod. I've found the best combination to be the channel master at around 9 o'clock and the loop volume at around 2 o'clock to wide open, depending on what the gig calls for. I can also hear my guitar a bit when the volume is turned all the way off. I think this is common with Splawn amps... I've heard of others experiencing the same thing.

On my QR it's the "Bypass" button next to the "Level" (+4 / -10) button. "In" is Active, "Out" is Bypass. I'm pretty sure it has to be "In" for the loop volume to work.

sasquatch is correct and you half to have a line running to an effect or just nt of the send and back in for it to have sound when it is engaged and if ur running an effect the one closest to the volume knob is the return and the one furthest is the send

Turn off or bypass the loop volume, set the volume on front of the amp to taste, crank the loop volume, activate loop volume then drop the loop volume to reasonable sound level.

Hey guys, I just had a go at the volume loop thing, and god damn it sure makes a pretty big difference. I have the volume on the front of the amp a bit past noon, and when I started getting the really nice brutal tones I had the loop volume at 3 o' clock or something like that, which is still a bit too loud for bedroom volume jamming. Is it just me or the sound actually changes depending on how high you have your loop volume at? Because I can't really seem to sound the same with the loop volume lower than 3 o' clock than with it at 3 o' clock.

Speaking for the QR... you will get the best sound finding a good balance between the channel master and the loop volume. For me, that's about 9 o'clock on the channel master and 2 o'clock to wide open on the loop volume depending on the gig. I think you'll find the solo boost function becomes less effective as the channel master volume increases. Much past noon on the channel master and you'll not likely hear any difference in volume when you kick in the solo boost. Glad to hear your loop volume is functioning and you got it all figured out.

Yeah I'm glad as well, so anyway I'll keep playing with those 2 knobs toy find myself a sweet spot. Thanks a lot, and thank you everyone for your responses, it's nice to know we can count on our splawn brothers! ;D
