Okay to set the record straight. I am not being negative about the Nitro and absolutely love the amp. Being a Nitro owner for more than a year and doing some experimenting with it to not only find a speaker that I like with it, but more importantly find a speaker that can handle the massive low end the amp has without farting, crying, etc. A Nitro on full power through a 2X12 with SB25's is a blown speaker waiting to happen. I know I know the speakers are rated at 55 watts which equals 110 total. The Nitro is rated at 100 watts. Well the 100 watts is continuous power not peak and the 55 watts is max on the SBs. I think in standard you should be fine. In drop not so good. In drop B the Nitro would send the SB's through the grill cloth at gigging volume. I'm just giving what I have found through trial and error. Here is the speakers I have used or tested with the Nitro. SB 65s BB Govs Man O wars Texas Heats Celestion g12t75s " " g12t100s " " g12k100s " " V30s " " G12M greenies the 100 watt Celestions and the Texas Heats didn't fart out The rest did. They were tested in a straight front Splawn cab. Thats my two cents from experience. I am not being negative. I am just trying to stress that the Nitro is a MONSTER! I tested all in drop B.

I ran my Nitro through a Splawn 4X12 w/BB's and SB's and a Mesa 4X12 w/V30's using a LP and never had a problem with either cab farting out or getting woomfy nor the tone getting boxy, and that includes a song we played tuned to Drop Bb...YMMV.

First of let me say that I appreciate all the advice. Second, I love my Nitro,it just sounds awesome and the "womfyness" is nowhere near enough to be a dealbreaker. I found that there were several things contributing to the issue: The practice room we are in really contributed greatly to the bass resonance, a larger room helped. Aside from the room, turning the bass down obviously was the easy fix, even though I love the full sound of it turned up, so I had to comprimise. Bypassing my effects processor definitely had a positive albeit slight effect on the tone but didn't solve the bass problem, as a matter of fact it added more bass. My next test is to try it at half power and see what happens.
