I spoke to Scott today and he asked me to post a thread about a new feature for all 2009 models. All new models will now have a built in volume pot in the loop. No more having to use a volume pedal or other device to get a great tone at low volumes. Scott said he did quite a bit of experimenting w/ pot values and the like to come up w/ what worked the best w/ Splawn.
I can't say enough good things about how Scott listens to the players and continues to improve on an already great product. Just one MORE reason I can't wait to get my new Super Comp... ;D

DUDE NO WAY!!
OK, that's it. I'mma gonna order me a Quickrod. If I can do it soon, I might be able to get delivery by my birthday in late April.
Who should I place an order with? There are no dealers anywhere even close to where I live.

There are no dealers anywhere even close to where I live. You dont have to live close to a dealer. The amps and cabs are direct shipped. The dealers have build dates and can get you one faster on most occasions.I ordered mine head and cab from James Lynn Burke at Blues City Music and he is a great great guy to do business with.He will keep in contact with you during and after the order has been shipped and delivered.Check him out or whoever on the Splawn site.I am sure they all are great business partners with Scott.

Oh boy, Scott better hire more people soon because this is going to increase his demand big time! That is a great idea, very cool of him to cater to the bedroom rockers. I bet a lot of people will be selling their old Splawns and getting this new mod. I only use mine live so I don't need it.

Scott said that he used a 100k pot, but he also designed a circuit which kept the amp from loosing the high end that normally gets lost when using a volume pedal. The new QR's will sound more like a Splawn should sound with out a volume pedal in the loop, when using his new loop volume control. Scott still says that it is a matter of taste. I use an Ernie Ball Jr.(250k pot) in my loop and it works great. Someone said on one of the threads that Splawns are designed to sound like that one in a hundred Marshall head, but sometimes I think I might have also got that one in a hundred Splawn. I have not played other Splawns, so for all I know they might all sound this good. I have played a lot of amps though and nothing beats a Splawn IMHO.
