I got a cabinet originally build for Tony Rombola from a board member a few months back. It had been working great. Then last week, I was playing and then all of a sudden nothing. I called Scott and he helped me trouble shoot the issues, what great customer service.
It looks like I blew 2 speakers. This amp originally had sb65/bb x pattern. I went ahead and ordered 4 sb25s, hope I made the right decision on this.
Anyhow, is there anything I should know about installing the new speakers? Any tricks I should know about? It looks like I would just unsolder the old speakers unscrew them from the cab put new ones in and solder them in. Seems simple enough, what do you think?
Oh yea, anyone what to buy a SB65 or BB?
Thanks, III

just make sure you solder them in the right spot. you may want to take a picture of the wiring before you tear into it.
Also, be careful screwing them back in. They can crossthread easily.
SB25s are great speakers. I got two of them for my 2x12. Haven't mic'ed them for recording yet.

A picture is a good ideal. I was actually going to replace one at a time to mitigate the risk of wiring it up wrong. My cab is up at my rehearsal spot, if I recall correctly I think that the screws are hex. Can anyone tell me exactly what they are?

All I have to add is don't screw them in very tight, just snug. People think everything with a screw in it should be tightened until they're grimacing like the Hulk, but speaker baskets can warp. There are wiring diagrams on Celestion's site if you get stuck.

Install of new speakers went smoothly. Thanks to all that replied and Scott for help. Now I just need to put a few miles on them to smooth them out a bit.
