Hi Everyone, I'm new to the forum as I have just recently 'discovered' Splawn.
Willies Guitars in St. Paul, MN where I live has a used 212 Splawn cab in near mint condition. I think the speakers are a bb and either a sb 25 or 65. They're asking $400 for it which seems like a good price to me.
My current setup is a Mesa 3-channel dual rec(with KT77's) and/or a Carvin MTS head into a Carvin 412 cab('97or98 model-not celestions. I also sometimes run a POD PRO rackmount preamp into the power section of one of the amps.
I actually prefer the tone of the Carvin head to the Mesa when it has fresh JJ tubes, but I'm not really satisfied with any of my amps or my speakers.
Has anyone played a Mesa Rectifier or Carvin through a Splawn cab? I'm hoping that if I pick up this cab, it may make me enjoy the sound of my amps more. Or I may want to keep saving for my dream amp-a Bogner Ecstasy(the shop let me borrow a used one last week:) Or maybe even a Splawn head... Let me know what you guys think.
