I just ordered my Splawn 4x12 cab.
Talked with Scott yesterday (very nice guy btw!!) and after letting him know what i was looking for tone wise, he suggested an X pattern of SB25's and BB's. This should balance out for the 80's metal that i like and the more modern metal tones that I love(Pantera, Overkill etc...).
Specs: Black tolex, Black grill and white pipping.
I'm freaking anxious of getting this one in... can't wait to see how it compares to my VHT's... and Marshall.

The cab as been shipped and should arrive this Thursday!! Can't freakin' wait!! My plans are to rent out an good A/B pedal and jam and compare the Splawn against the VHT FatBottom... its gonna be a good week end!! And it was ready before the due date that Scott gave me... He said 4-5 weeks I got an email 3 weeks later saying it was done. I just had to sell off some gear to cover the rest.

As of now, my VHT's are pretty hard to beat... but i've heard such good feedback from friends and this place I took a chance and called one in. So like I said, this Saturday i'll be doing lots of A/B'ing between the VHT's the Marshall and the Splawn.
I can't wait!

.......and we can't wait for your report! And the sound clips And thats the funny thing... I pretty much have everything I need to record clips except the mics. I have a vocal mic (akg perception200) but nothing for guitars. I mostly connect my preamp straight into my presonus and fire away normally.... i'll set that up soon.

It landed this afternoon.... besides the fact that the FedEx driver couldnt move the box alone and that I had to help him out (thank god I was home). I even asked him what he would have done is lets say my wife that 5'4 would have answered the door... he said "I would have turned back and you would hav gotten it another day" so I was pist by that response.
So, the important thing is that the box was nice and clean. No rips, gashes, cuts or any other unpleasent surprises... so I was damn happy about that. That was my biggest concern, FedEx fooking it up and having to send it back... but thank god its all good.
I'll create a new post with pics later tonight... maybe comparing the VHT and Splawn side by side.
