I love how the "old-school" splawners all have the gov/man-o-war pattern... that was years before these small blocks/big blocks ;D...when you asked scott at the time what speaker pattern he'd recommend he said the x-pattern of governors/manowars...i still love mine, which is why i haven't changed |

I agree completely. I had a 4x12 and 2x12 with the manowar/gov pattern. It definitely works, and sounds great, no doubt about it. I wasnt making fun of you old timers, its just funny to see the change of the guard as far as speakers and preferred choices happen...

That is sweet looking! I guess I'm a Splawn old-timer too. I have 3 Spawn 4-12's with the Gov/Manowar combo. They sound killer to me. If it ain't broke don't fix it ya know?

Craig I had a feeling I was going to hear something from you with the Gov/Man-o-War comment. You've got three of them? I had one of those too...I thought the Govs were a little harsh.

Welcome to Club Competition, VL. Glad you like to noodle around on Triode too, I'm a big fan. It gets all gooey and warm, and puts you in the zone at lower volume than Pentode. Pentode is the ticket for clarity/aggression, though. Nice to have the choice.
Hmmm, two overdrives, three gears, two power modes. This single channel amp sure does a lot.

I played out with it on Sunday night and I got that sucker sparkley clean. Gear 1 OD 1 volume knob rolled back...glorious...
