Wow, i had a great gig yesterday, almost like playing 2 separate shows. We did the annual Noize for Toyz benefit in Winter Park .. 4 really great bands and hundreds of people.. So we went on about 4 in the afternoon.. and had a decnt set.. Later that evening, they moved orm the outdoor Budweiser stage to the inside bar area,, and I witnessed and particpated in the most awesome jam night.. Gary Moffat on drums from .38 special. Jeff and Tim from Slaughter on guitar and drums, Rick Navarro from Pat Travers Band,, it was insane. They called me up and me and Jeff from Slaughter did an hour long guitar onslaught of Hendrix, Cream, Zeppelin, VH and SRV.. and Pat Travers tune with the bass player FROM Pat Travers,, haha... it was too cool.. I shoud have pics in the next few days.. I was plugging Splawn all night, but unfortunately my gear was already packed up and broke a string on my Mansel guitar so I ended up using my old trusty '95 PRS custom for the indoor show... through,, gulp.. a Mesa Dual Rectifier,, YUCK that thing sounded like @ss, but the leads were ok. Slaughters doing demo tracks for their new record and rehearsing down here, I might go over ad hang out and bring the QR. It may turn up on the new album,, we'll see.

Sounds like a good time. Can't wait to see the pics from the show! You must be like best buds with the guys in Slaughter by now? Maybe not only will your QR show up on the new album...........but maybe you will too. Wishfull thinking! Is Mark Slaughter hanging around down there too? What is his real name? It sure isn't Slaughter.......or he would have a screwed up family!

Nope, not really, but thankfully for me i guess, we hang out in the same places and they alwasy come to our shows. Of course I always goto they're shows too. I've only met Dana and Mark twice each and they are super cool. They just got this guy Tim from Orlando on drums this year, and Jeff Blando is really the only one I hang out with or know fairly well.
Jeff said everyone is rehearsing here, Mark and Dana live in Vegas and Jeff and Tim live here, so not sure how they work those things.
The sad truth is they are fantastic musicans but got the 80's hair-band label. They're newer stuff is awesome super heavier and catchy tunes but its just not marketable anymore. But they still do huge shows and play all over the world, so what can ya say?

We all pretty much have passage on that boat...it's beginning to sail again...Alice in Chains, Soundgarden and Pearl Jam's first albums were nothing but repackaged heavy 70s rock and it EXPLODED...good rock music will always be popular..if you move to the fringes (speed/death metal, 80s hair metal etc...) that is where the crowds begin to thin...but 'loyalists' will show up to those shows too, just fewer.

actually...I like 'aint talkin' bout love'...most people play it too fast so it loses that heavy phase sound...and that is the ONLY cool thing about that song...
