Hey guys! I'm new here. Been saving to buy a splawn and plan on getting one here in the near future. Brad is actually the one that turned me onto Splawn amps. I love their sound and am constantly impressed with them. But you guys already knew they were killer amps ;D
Anyway I'm not speaking on behalf of the band by any means, and I know I'm new and really don't have any credibility, but I have known them for quite awhile and I'm actually friends with one of the new guitarists. I can tell you FOR SURE that brad is writing and recording the new album and the other two will come in and help write here and there. Brad's back is getting better but it was in terrible condition. If you went to one of the disciple shows in the last two years you would've seen brad was not in the best shape. Touring with a bad back was really screwing with his health. I was sitting on their bus talking with kevin and was watching brad practice through a PODxt before a show and he was just miserable.
Kevin is not suffering from LSD either. Trust me. Him and Brad are like brothers, and they probably fought like brothers sometimes, but they wrote great music together. Getting a new guitar player was the last thing Kevin wanted to do and leaving Disciple was something I know troubled Brad for quite awhile.
Anyway sorry about that. I've lurked these forums long enough and decided I needed to join the family. Can't wait till I get my splawn! Any suggestions?

Nitro cough cough... nuff said...
...no but seriously if you like the heavier stuff the nitro is what you'd want to go for, classic rock is more suited to the quick rod, but don't get me wrong they can do much more than that...
...it really matters what your tryin to get out of the amp in regards to what type you want...

I've been kind of eyeing the Nitro.
I really dig the warm tone that Zack Wylde and Eddie Van Halen have though. Just the right amount of crunch. I'll have to look into the nitro a little more. Though I've been leaning more towards the quick rod.
Thanks for the reply!

That's interesting about Disciple. I actually found out about Splawn amps because that what James Mead of Kutless now plays and Noah from Pillar..so I heard. I play in a new Christian Rock band myself and really liked all three of these bands...which is how I got here. Welcome redwolf...looks like we are the two newest members here.

I'm not Zakk but wish I was but Vom knew I was a huge Zakk fan. The nitro sounds bad azz but it is alittle warmer than Zakk rig! And realy thats what Zakk needs a a freakin NITRO!!!!!!!!!!! His tone of late is stale sounding Heavy but no warmth out all.

well we will just have to see if brad is mentioned anywhere on any writing credits of the new album or just wait till brad makes his statement about everything. Again, there will always be conflicting stories between memebers especially when the two remaining members are trying to not go into debt with a label on an album that didn't do nearly as well as they had hoped. If you come right out of the pocket when trying to continue to push an album & bold face say, our guitarist quit us because he was tired of attitudes in the band, & was fed up with the whole disciple thing & our bassist quit because he sick of all the non christian like attitudes in a obviously christian rock band...well you aint gunna sell too many albums are you? Again, well just have to wait till the dust settles & the remaining members aren't trying to cover their asses any more. I loved Disciple, especially the album prior to last but I can safely say I give this band about one or two more albums tops before they relize it's over. My info comes from management & now friends of the departed members, so if ya call my bluff go for it. I am only speaking what I heard as it is the only thing I can do. But I wish the boys the best & Brad Noah rips it! -Brent

I'm just stating a few things that I've talked about with Kevin, Brad and Tim themselves . Kevin and Brad were really honest and upfront with a lot of things about the changes in the band when I got to talk to them last november. I didn't really talk about Joey a whole lot because honestly I never really got to know him that well. I did care what happened to the core of Disciple's sound and thats Brad's riffs. They were the ones that opened up and talked about it with me. I just know Brad physically couldn't tour anymore and if it did have to do with attitudes(which I'm sure there is....its a band afterall lol) it was very little. He talked about how much he didn't want to stop but if he was going to have a healthy life again he had to stop performing live for awhile. Doctors told him he needs to stop touring a minimum of two years to allow his back to heal properly. Thank the Lord he doesn't need surgery. If you've heard the new song they did for the WWE you'll hear its Brad. Plus their new guitar players have been coming straight home after their weekend shows these past couple of months. Not leaving them really a lot of time to go record full blown guitar parts and writing with the band. Brad, Tim, Kevin and Israel have all been writing and recording the bulk of the album with Travis Wyrick. Like I said man, I'm not trying to start anything. Just relaying information. On an amp note....Think I might be going with a quickrod. I really dig brad's tone. Not trying to replicate it, but I really like how it sounded live.

The quickrod is a little cleaner in the long run like Brad's tone but the nitro is pretty mean out the cut No problems at all man, I like hearing another side of things. -Brent

zakk wylde=marshall amps evh=evh amps brah noah=splawn tony rombola=splawn neither of them are splawn,if you what their tone buy what they play.from what ive heard the nitro and quickrod are way larger sounding than marshall/evh...and in my opinion both of those guitarists are cocky, obnoxious, and get way too much attention, since there a lot nicer guitarist we can focus on.its my opinion and im entitled to it.
